Highlights during the ELS 4151 - Intercultural Communication class' final visit to Pangantucan🏫👥

The class visited Lake Napalit last November 29, 2024, to conduct their final visit to host a short program to entertain the Manobo students with a few icebreakers and award the Pangantucan High School staff and the Community Elders for their contributions to the English-Manobo-Bisaya dictionary. The class and the Manobo students also rode a boathouse across Lake Napalit after eating lunch together, which was provided by the class.

Highlights during the ELS 4151 - Intercultural Communication class' third visit to Pangantucan🏫👥

Six chosen students from the class visited last November 14, 2024, to conduct their third visit to ask permission from the elders to print the Manobo-English dictionary and to verify the Manobo translations that the class gathered. During the visit, the students made a trek towards a lake and later witnessed and participated in an authentic Manobo ritual. The class is now a step closer to achieving the project's goal.

Highlights during the ELS 4151 - Intercultural Communication class’ second visit to Pangantucan High School 🏫👥

The class visited last October 15, 2024, to conduct their second visit to present their current progress on their English-Manobo dictionary with the students and faculty of Pangantucan High School. During the presentation, the class learned more about the Manobo language through the verification process led by the Pangantucan High School teachers and students. The class takes a step further in helping preserve the Manobo language.

Highlights during the ELS 4151 - Intercultural Communication class’ first visit at Pangantucan High School 🏫👥

The class visited last September 20, 2024 to conduct their first visit and had a memorable time connecting and collaborating with the students and faculty of Pangantucan High School. Together, laughter and fond memories were exchanged along with cultural information that serves as the foundation of the class’ community project aimed to contribute in the preservation of the Manobo language.

In the first phase of its purposeful undertaking, AB English Language 4A and AB Interdisciplinary Studies - Major in Language and Literature 2A traveled to Pangantucan High School last September 20, 2024 to interconnect with Manobo students and gather data for their service goals.

This pursuit marks the official commencement of 🤝 Pag-Ilhanay: Bridging Diversity, Breaching through Differences 🍃, a project that sets it sights on empowering Indigenous Communities by designing avenues for language and cultural appreciation. It seeks to serve diverse populace and contribute in nurturing their heritage.
