Applications are now extended until June 15, 2026.
In consideration of the recent earthquake that affected many communities across Mindanao and to provide interested participants with additional time to complete their applications, we have extended the application period.
Please also be informed that, due to adjustments following the recent earthquake, both event venues have been transferred and consolidated at the Bapa Benny Tudtud Auditorium, Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU).
We look forward to welcoming you there. See you!
Join us aboard the second run of the From Currents to Courage Project, an initiative that continues to foster informed, inclusive, and forward-looking conversations on maritime security, cooperation, and shared responsibility.
As the Philippines and the United States commemorate the 80th Anniversary of PhilippinesβUnited States diplomatic relations and the 75th Anniversary of the Mutual Defense Treaty (MDT), this project provides an opportunity to reflect on decades of partnership anchored in shared history, mutual interests, and a collective commitment to regional stability.
As an archipelagic nation, the Philippines remains inherently connected to its maritime domain, a vital space that shapes national security, economic resilience, and regional stability. With maritime spaces becoming increasingly complex and contested, challenges such as unauthorized maritime activities, gray-zone operations, rising geopolitical tensions, and the spread of misinformation and disinformation underscore the need to strengthen public understanding of maritime security. Through informed dialogue and meaningful engagement, Filipinos can contribute to fostering cooperation, safeguarding shared interests, and advancing stability in maritime spaces.
As part of this initiative, participants are invited to Toward Calm Waters: Dialogue and Cooperation in Maritime Spaces, a forum that will explore maritime security, regional stability, and the role of diplomacy and cooperation in addressing shared maritime concerns.
The forum will be followed by Exploring Maritime Cooperation: The Role of International Partnerships on Maritime Security, a high-level roundtable discussion featuring representatives from Canada, Australia, Japan, France, the United States, and the Philippines. The discussion will examine international cooperation, maritime partnerships, regional security challenges, and collaborative approaches to strengthening maritime capabilities and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
For the complete schedule and venue details, please refer to the event poster.
