Squared has identified that recent duplicate entry issues stem from students encoding incorrect ID numbers, resulting in the unintended use—or so-called ID number “stealing”—of another student’s identity, affecting a total of 47 students.

The review revealed that these incorrect entries caused system records to reflect multiple ID numbers under a single student user, compromising data accuracy and accountability within Squared-monitored events.

In response, Squared is calling the attention of the students involved and strongly reminding all users to verify their ID numbers before encoding to avoid identity misuse and further duplicate entries. The organization emphasizes that entering another student’s ID—whether intentional or not—constitutes identity misrepresentation and may lead to corrective actions.

Further advisories and validation measures will be released through Squared’s official communication channels to prevent similar incidents moving forward.

Squared is currently reviewing reported instances where multiple student Squared QR codes are being accessed through a single device during campus activities, resulting in attendance or participation being recorded despite users not being physically present.

In response, Squared is preparing to implement a one Squared QR Code Card per device policy to strengthen validation accuracy and uphold fairness across all events. Students who do not have access to a digital QR code will be encouraged to present a printed hard copy to ensure proper verification.

The initiative reflects Squared’s commitment to data integrity, accountability, and responsible system use. Once finalized, official policy guidelines and implementation details will be released through Squared’s official communication channels.

Formally known as the Neoteric, Explicit, Xenial, and Transparent (NEXT) Party, the organization has been an active force in student governance since its establishment in 2022. Over the years, the party has consistently advanced the principles of transparency, accountability, and good governance—values that align with the core mission of Davao Central College.
