Saturday meeting in Baganga on Saturday. All nursery leaders are working on the planting schedule, as the big planting offensive starts on Wednesday. The mangrove seedling hauling shall be done on Tuesday; every worker must work overtime. Let's make Baganga greener and greener every day, and keep in mind: Every mangrove is a step to the future. Thank you for our good teamwork.

As is well known, Mama Earth’s monitoring teams are very strict when selecting mangrove seedlings for planting. All seedlings must be in top condition so they take root well after planting. The first 10,000 seedlings from San Isidro have now arrived for our Limestone Project in Guang guang (Mati). San Isidro is about 40 minutes from Mati, and Levy’s planting team has a green thumb for cultivating the best and strongest Pagatpat seedlings. They are now standing in the shade of trees and being misted with water to recover from the transport.

Our central nursery is always brimming with mangrove seedlings at various stages of growth. A heat wave is currently sweeping across the southern island of Mindanao, so it’s important to water the seedlings every day. But we’ve got that covered, too, because part of the nursery is located above a tributary. This allows us to easily draw water from the sea. This is very helpful, as the mangrove seedlings need plenty of water since their roots will eventually grow in the water.

We not only inspect the mangrove seedlings in nurseries before they are released into the wild, but also monitor their survival rates after planting. Based on our experience, we expect a mortality rate of approximately 5 to 7 percent, which must not be exceeded. It is therefore important that only strong, healthy seedlings be planted. However, since we plant an additional 15 percent in Baganga, we are always guaranteed to reach the net figures.

Happy Eastern, but not for our drone. The done was crashed in the mangroves and can not fly anymore. Hopefully the drone doctor in Davao can bring her back to life, because we need to continue our documentation flights as soon as possible. Happy Eastern.

The famous hospitality of the Philippines is surpassed by our farmers. Whether we’re on site for our inspection trips in Baganga, traveling for necessary meetings, or simply there to pay out their hard-earned wages, we’re always treated to freshly prepared seafood. Today, the Poo Kinablangan Aqua Developers Association (POKADA) from Baganga North provided the ugis fish. Thank you very much for the delicious meal, but we are even more grateful for the excellent cooperation. More mangroves are on the way.
