As the blessed month of Ramadan comes to a close, we at AL-SABAR extend our warmest greetings of Eidโ€™l Fitr Al Mubarak to our dear brothers and sisters. May Allah SWT accept our fasting, prayers, sacrifices, and all acts of ibadah, and may He allow us to carry the ruh of Ramadan into the days beyond.

This Eid is not only a celebration of joy, but a testament to patience, discipline, and sincerity: values that define who we are as a community.

We would also like to express our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to our generous donors and supporters. As AL-SABAR marks its ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ—๐ญ๐ก ๐š๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ, we look back with gratitude on a journey held together by faith, carried by service, and quietly strengthened by our shared commitment to justice and human rights. This journey began in December 2006, when Saligan-Mindanaw, Pilipina Legal Resources Center, and The Alternative Law Groups, with the support of The Asia Foundation, convened the first Moro Law Interns Conference, where the idea of forming Moro law student organizations across schools was first envisioned. In the spirit of Ramadan, a time of reflection and compassion, the Ateneo Law Student Advocates for Bangsamoro Rights (AL-SABAR) conducted its annual Ramadan Outreach Program and Free Legal Services in the Bangsamoro community in Bangkal. For the past three years, this community has been our chosen partner for this Ramadan initiative, giving Ateneo Muslim law students the opportunity to spend time with the community and continue a simple tradition of service and shared faith beyond the walls of the law school.

This yearโ€™s outreach was filled with moments of learning and connection. The children of the community participated in Islamic quiz bee and Adhan calling competition, creating moments of joy and shared appreciation for the beauty of Islamic teachings. Free legal services were also conducted during the outreach by our AL-SABAR alumni who are now practicing lawyers.

As part of this yearโ€™s program, AL-SABAR also donated three ceiling fans to the community space. Though a simple contribution, we hope it helps make their place of gathering a little more comfortable for prayers, learning activities, and other community events.

We mourn the passing of our dear brother, ๐๐š๐ฒ๐ฌ๐š๐ฅ ๐“๐ฎ๐ฆ๐จ๐ , ๐‰๐ซ. an active and pioneering member of AL-SABAR, who returned to Allah ๏ทป yesterday.

He was among those who helped lay the foundation of the group through his commitment, presence, and quiet dedication. His efforts and sincerity will not be forgotten, and his contributions remain part of the legacy he leaves behind.

May Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, expand his grave with light, and grant him Jannatul Firdaus. May Allah also grant patience and strength to his family, loved ones, and the entire AL-SABAR community during this time of loss.
