JUNE 22 | Family Food Pack Distribution in Brgy. Fatima, GenSan

Following the repacking activity on June 21, Dagyaw Team, together with partner organizations and volunteers, proceeded with the distribution of family food packs to 400 families in Barangay Fatima, General Santos City.

The beneficiaries came from some of the most affected communities in the barangay, particularly Purok 19, Purok 15, Purok 14, and Purok Moro Christian.

This relief distribution was made possible through the support of German Doctors, Citizens' Disaster Response Center, and Mindanao Interfaith Services Foundation, Inc. - MISFI, as part of the continuing humanitarian response for communities affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake and its impacts.

The activity was also carried out in collaboration with the SOCSARGEN Ecumenical Council, Central United Methodist Church-GenSan, and the United Church of Christ in the Philippines - Lagao.

For the families of Brgy. Fatima, each food pack is a concrete form of support as they continue to face the challenges of recovery—damaged homes, disrupted livelihoods, displacement, and the daily uncertainty after the disaster.

Dagyaw also extends its gratitude to the volunteers from Central United Methodist Church-GenSan, UCCP Volunteers, SANAG Youth Volunteers, and Sabokahan Volunteers, whose collective effort helped ensure that the relief assistance reached affected households.

Through solidarity and coordinated action, we continue to bring food, care, and support closer to the families who need them most.

JUNE 21 | Dagyaw in Preparation for Family Food Pack Distribution in Brgy. Fatima, GenSan

Dagyaw Team, together with partner volunteers, conducted the repacking of family food packs in preparation for distribution to 400 families in Barangay Fatima, General Santos City.

This initiative is supported by German Doctors, Citizens' Disaster Response Center, and Mindanao Interfaith Services Foundation, Inc. - MISFI, as part of the continuing humanitarian response for communities affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake and its impacts.

Each food pack represents more than immediate relief. It is a reminder that affected families are not alone as they continue to recover from displacement, damaged homes, disrupted livelihoods, and the daily uncertainty brought by the disaster.

Dagyaw extends its heartfelt thanks to the volunteers from Central United Methodist Church-GenSan, SANAG Youth Volunteers, and Sabokahan Volunteers for sharing their time, energy, and commitment in helping prepare the family food packs.

JUNE 21 | Feeding and Food Pack Distribution in Lun Masla Riverside, Malapatan

Dagyaw Team continued its support to Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc. in providing humanitarian assistance to families affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Sarangani.
On June 21, Team 1 conducted feeding support and food pack distribution in Purok 1, Lun Masla Riverside, Malapatan, reaching 225 families.

For many households, the road to recovery remains difficult. Families continue to face the daily challenges of damaged homes, disrupted livelihoods, limited resources, and uncertainty after the earthquake and its related impacts.

Through the support of partners, volunteers, and donors, Dagyaw continues to help bring food and basic relief closer to affected communities.

Dagyaw remains committed to standing with the families of Sarangani as they recover, rebuild, and move forward.

JUNE 20 | Continued Relief and Feeding Support in GenSan Communities

Dagyaw Team continued its field operations in support of Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc.’s humanitarian response for families affected by the earthquake.

Team 1 proceeded with distributing 1,867 family food packs in Apopong, Lanton, Purok Puting Bato Calumpang, Fatima, Bawi, and Tambler, reaching multiple communities across General Santos City.

Team 2 conducted feeding support in Brgy Dadiangas North, Gensan, an area earlier assessed to have many households with partially or totally damaged homes and continuing humanitarian needs.

These efforts form part of the continuing response for families who are still recovering from the earthquake, displacement, damaged homes, disrupted livelihoods, and limited access to basic supplies.

Dagyaw thanks all partners, volunteers, donors, and community members who continue to help bring relief closer to affected families.

JUNE 18 | Field Deployment to More Affected Barangays

Dagyaw Team continued field deployment in support of Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc.’s humanitarian response for earthquake-affected communities.

Two teams were organized for the day’s operations. Team 1 was assigned to Brgy Tuyan, Malapatan and Glan Padidu, and Cablalan in Glan while Team 2 was assigned to Lago and Big Margus in the Municipality of Glan, with relief support prepared for each barangay.

The team also gathered assessment information from Barangay Upper Suyan, Malapatan, where several sitios reported damaged homes and displaced families. Initial field notes identified affected families in Matlusi, Mahayag, and Maybaka, including households with partially and totally damaged homes.

These updates help guide continuing relief efforts so that assistance can reach communities with the most urgent needs, especially those in farther sitios and areas affected by landslides, flooding, and displacement.

Dagyaw remains committed to supporting coordinated, community-based, and last-mile humanitarian response.

JUNE 17 | Daan Suyan, and Upper Suyan Malapatan | Buwayan, General Santos

Dagyaw Team continued its support to Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc. through relief and feeding activities in affected communities.

In Buwayan, General Santos City, the team conducted feeding support and hygiene kit distribution at the evacuation center near the barangay hall. Around 28 families were staying in the area, with children and senior citizens among those prioritized for hot meals. A total of 150 hygiene kits were also distributed.

In Daan Suyan, the team helped distribute 300 food packs with rice and 300 hygiene kits to affected families. Local barangay officials also joined the activity and helped facilitate the distribution.

The team also noted the successful distribution of 300 food packs in Upper Suyan, despite difficult weather conditions that caused one team to be stranded overnight.

These field updates remind us that humanitarian response does not end with the first wave of aid. Families continue to need food, hygiene supplies, safe shelter, and steady support as they recover.

Two weeks after the magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Sarangani, the work is far from over.

Relief operations continue. Media, responders, local governments, and community volunteers are still on the ground. In some landslide-hit areas, families are only now beginning to receive painful answers as recovery efforts continue.

But for many affected households, especially in remote and geographically isolated communities, daily survival remains difficult.

Food packs have been stretched. Water remains a concern. Families are still staying in temporary shelters, sharing what little they have, and trying to rebuild while facing uncertainty each day.

Dagyaw Relief Network is continuing its support for communities that are harder to reach—villages in the hills, across rivers, and at the end of long roads where aid does not always arrive easily.
