PAPA Mock Interviews Update 💜

Thank you to everyone who has already signed up for our 2026 PAPA Mock Interviews!

If you haven’t registered yet, please complete the form as soon as possible. We’ll be finalizing assignments for our first week of sessions by Sunday, with priority given based on when you originally submitted your registration.

Already signed up but need to change your date preferences? You may still edit your response using your original form submission link. Updating your answers will not change your original place in the sign-up order, so you will keep the same first come, first served priority.

As we finalize the schedule, we’ll do our best to accommodate your preferred date(s) based on availability.

Please keep an eye on your email for your confirmed assignment and session details.

Interview season can feel intimidating, but you don’t have to go into it unprepared.

The PAPA Mock Interviews are back for 2026, giving PM&R applicants a chance to practice, get thoughtful feedback, and become more comfortable talking about their experiences before the real interviews begin.

Whether you’re figuring out how to answer the classics, working on how you tell your story, or simply want to feel less nervous when interview day comes, this is your space to practice.

Poster deadlines and upcoming conference submission dates are quickly approaching. To help our research teams prepare, Dr. Tamayo will be holding a special Virtual Office Hours session for all active PAPA research teams on Thursday, August 6, from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM Eastern Time.

Teams may use this opportunity to provide project updates, ask questions, discuss challenges, and receive guidance on posters, abstracts, and other upcoming submissions.

Please come prepared with your team’s latest progress, specific questions, and any materials you would like Dr. Tamayo to review.

Disability Pride Month may be coming to a close, but disability pride, visibility, and advocacy are not limited to one month. 🌈

At PAPA, we recognize disability as a natural and valuable part of human diversity. As a community connected by rehabilitation medicine, we celebrate disabled people in all their identities, experiences, achievements, leadership, creativity, and contributions.

Disability pride also calls us to look beyond diagnoses and limitations, listen to lived experiences, respect every person’s autonomy, and help create healthcare systems and communities where accessibility, inclusion, dignity, and belonging are never treated as afterthoughts.

Let us continue to:

✨ We’re opening more PAPA PM&R Application Bootcamp dates!

The response to our first Bootcamp exceeded our expectations—thank you so much! 💙

Because of the overwhelming interest, we’re opening additional sessions so more applicants can join. One new session is already planned, and if interest continues, we’ll open another.

PAPA is once again collaborating with Damayan to help serve NYC’s Filipino community through the PM&R Street Medicine Clinic. 💙

We’re inviting medical students, residents, attending physicians, physical therapists, and other health professionals to volunteer with us.

📅 Saturday, September 26
⏰ 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
📍 NYC, location to be announced

Volunteer opportunities include:

• Virtual volunteering and pre-fair planning
• Set-up and clean-up
• Blood pressure, blood glucose, and stroke screenings
• Day-of coordination and survey support
• General medicine consultations for PGY-1 residents
• PM&R and pain consultations for PM&R PGY-2 to PGY-4 residents
• Resident supervision by attending physicians

Tagalog speakers are a plus, but not required.

Please note that all in-person volunteers must attend a one-hour virtual orientation to review the clinic flow and day-of responsibilities.

Spots for virtual volunteering are limited, so sign up early through the link in our bio.
