It is easy to get caught up in seeking our own recognition, comfort, and success in today's world, where our survival is based on our achievements and reputation. However, Apostle Paul calls us today to reexamine what truly sits at the 𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧 of our daily choices and priorities.

Today’s Bible verse reflects Paul’s deep conviction to make Jesus visible through his physical existence, regardless of the outcome. Rather than fearing shame or earthly defeat, his hope is anchored entirely in the 𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙤𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙡. Writing from prison, his main priority is that 𝙅𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙮, rather than his personal safety or comfort inside his cell.

May we live with the 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙗𝙤𝙡𝙙, 𝙪𝙣𝙬𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝 that St. Paul has, to make every moment, whether easy or difficult, an opportunity to magnify Him. Let us strive daily to reflect His grace, so that others see less of our worldly ambitions and more of His enduring love.

In this verse, Jesus teaches us the 𝒖𝒏𝒍𝒊𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔, challenging Peter’s desire to set limits on grace. While Peter believed forgiving someone seven times was generous, Jesus’ answer, "seventy-seven times," emphasizes that true mercy is 𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 and 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒖𝒐𝒖𝒔. Forgiveness is not set on certain conditions, but is a heart posture rooted in God’s unconditional love for us.

As we navigate our daily interactions, whether dealing with miscommunications at school, hurtful words online, or repeated friction with friends and family, holding on to grudges often feels easier than extending grace. Choosing to forgive again and again requires letting go of our pride, ego, and desire for petty retaliation. While continually showing mercy can feel overwhelming on our own, surrendering our bitterness opens the door for God’s peace and healing to transform our hearts.

As we step into a new week, let us reflect on the infinite mercy we have been freely given. May Christ’s call to 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒍𝒊𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒔 serve as a guiding light in our actions and words, reminding us to handle offenses with patience, release resentment, and stand as 𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 in a hurting world. 🕊️

From 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏 𝐭𝐨 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, we celebrate the 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, a special ecumenical season that marks a time where we can put our prayers for our common home into action. This year’s symbol, “𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫”, calls us back to one of God’s great creations and its current state. It reminds us that there is a need for 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧 and 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙚 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 to care for our waters that are polluted and scarce in certain areas.

As we start this season, let us pray and reflect on our relationship with God and His creation. May this season bring us towards prayer for our waters, action for ecological justice, and deeper ecological conversion so that we may observe the meaning behind Immersion in Living Water in our daily lives.

📖𝐵𝐼𝐵𝐿𝐸 𝒱𝐸𝑅𝒮𝐸 𝒪𝐹 𝒯𝐻𝐸 𝒲𝐸𝐸𝒦 | 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟏𝟑:𝟖 ✝️

“𝐵𝑟𝑜𝑡𝘩𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑠: 𝛰𝑤𝑒 𝑛𝑜𝑡𝘩𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 𝑎𝑛𝑦𝑜𝑛𝑒٫ 𝑒𝑥𝑐𝑒𝑝𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑜𝑡𝘩𝑒𝑟; 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡𝘩𝑒 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑤𝘩𝑜 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑜𝑡𝘩𝑒𝑟 𝘩𝑎𝑠 𝑓𝑢𝑙𝑓𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝘩𝑒 𝑙𝑎𝑤.”

When we read the Bible, it often mentions the law, which we usually associate with the 𝟭𝟬 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 stated in the Old Testament. The 10 Commandments given to us when Moses went up to Mt. Sinai. It tells us multiple things: to not have any other Gods before Him, to not use God's name in vain, to keep the Sabbath day holy, to honor our parents, to not murder, and more. These commands were all summarized by Jesus in the New Testament, as He told us to keep two things in mind: 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙂𝙤𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩, 𝙨𝙤𝙪𝙡, 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝 and 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙣𝙚𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙗𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛.

In today's Bible verse, Paul explains that by practicing the two greatest commandments Jesus taught us, we will be able to 𝙨𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙛𝙮 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙂𝙤𝙙'𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨. By loving God and our neighbor, we naturally avoid words and actions that may harm others. We avoid talking behind others’ backs, having ideas of violence, and stealing the belongings of others.

May today’s Bible verse call us back to God as we 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙮 𝙨𝙞𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙙 in our world today. May it serve as a reminder to all that 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 that can transform hearts and heal communities.

💧 SAN PEDRO COLLEGE JOINS THE SEASON OF CREATION 2026
“Living Water” | September 1 – October 4, 2026

From September 1 to October 4, 2026, San Pedro College joins Christians around the world in celebrating the Season of Creation a special ecumenical season dedicated to prayer, reflection, and concrete action for the care of our common home.

This year’s theme, “Living Water,” is inspired by Ezekiel 47:1–12, which presents a powerful vision of life-giving water flowing from the temple, restoring barren lands, reviving the waters, and allowing life to flourish wherever it flows.

The 2026 symbol, “Immersion in Living Water,” invites us not merely to observe the ecological crisis from a distance, but to immerse ourselves more deeply in the mission of ecological conversion, healing, and renewal of Creation.

As a community of faith and learning, San Pedro College is invited to make this Season of Creation a meaningful journey of prayer, formation, and action.

💧 PRAY with and for Creation.
💧 REFLECT on our relationship with God, one another, and our common home.
💧 PROTECT our rivers, watersheds, forests, seas, biodiversity, and communities.
💧 ACT for climate and ecological justice, especially alongside the poor and communities most affected by environmental destruction.

As Pope Francis reminds us in Laudato Si’:

“The entire material universe speaks of God’s love, his boundless affection for us.”
— Laudato Si’, 84

May this Season of Creation be more than a celebration. May it deepen our ecological conversion and move us from prayer to concrete action.

Together, as one SPC community, let us make Living Water flow in our classrooms, offices, homes, communities, and in our shared commitment to care for our common home. 🌿💧
