Rights Based Approach in Handling CISS August 12-13, 2026 l Tambayan Center From Helping to Empowering What changes when we stop seeing children in street situation as children who simply need help? We start seeing them as rights holders. The Rights Based Approach in Handling Children in Street Situation (CISS) training held on August 12 to 13, 2026 challenged us to ask: Are we designing programs for children, or with children? “Children are not objects of charity. They are rights holders.” Because every child deserves to be heard, protected, respected, and empowered.

We are grateful for the successful completion of our **1-Day First Aid Training and 2-Day Psychological First Aid (PFA) Training**—an enriching experience that equipped participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to respond to emergencies while providing care, comfort, and psychological support to those in need.

Together, we make a difference. 🤝

On July 29, 2026, 150 Badjao families affected by the recent fire in Barangay 23-C received relief goods and solar lamps during a distribution held at FCCDI Isla Verde. In addition, 10 solar flood lights were provided to help illuminate community pathways, promoting safety and hope as families begin to rebuild their lives.

This initiative was made possible through the generosity and collaboration of our valued partners:

✨ FCCDI – for graciously providing the venue for the distribution.
✨ CYO and PO – for their invaluable support and assistance throughout the activity.

DATE: JULY 25-26, 2026

They walked into a room as parents. They walked out having built a tree—roots of faith and family, branches reaching for dignity and hope.

It started with one question: "What does human rights mean to you?"

Silence first. Then:
"It is the right to send our children to school."
"It means no one should hurt our children to discipline them."

As the conversation went deeper, feelings, healing, and the courage to face substance use not with judgment, but compassion.

Not one of them was labeled. Not one of them was left behind. This is what it looks like when a community decides no one is beyond healing.

"We are not just waiting to grow up. We are ready to stand up—but we need you to stand with us."

Do you know what kids are really worried about at school?

Not just grades. Safety. Whether reports actually lead to action. Whether anyone notices when a friend is struggling.

In two learning sessions in Davao City, young people opened up about the realities they face every day—and what they discovered changed how they see themselves. Education, safety, healthcare, the right to be heard? Not privileges adults hand out. Rights they were born with.

They spoke about school safety gaps, the pressure of substance use, and the emotions they're often told to hide. They also had a message for the adults in their lives: asking for help isn't weakness—it's courage.

Their call to action is simple: include us, listen to us, act with us.

𝐈𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭.✨
Tambayan Center for Children's Rights, Inc. successfully conducted the Distribution of School Supplies for 30 students in Purok 11, Talomo, Davao City. This initiative aims to support children's education by providing essential learning materials that will help them begin and continue their academic journey with confidence.
These school supplies are more than just notebooks, pencils, and bags—they are symbols of hope and reminders that someone believes in their dreams and is willing to walk alongside them on their educational journey. By sharing what we have, we hope to inspire every child to keep learning, persevere despite challenges, and look forward to a brighter future.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported this initiative and made this activity possible. Together, we continue to create opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive.

Our heartfelt thanks to 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲'𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 – 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 (PTV – Davao) for visiting the Tambayan Center for Children's Rights, Inc., and giving us the opportunity to share the heart of our organization and its programs.
