It serves as an avenue for the to acquire new information through various platforms and become competitive IS students. It also aims to provide for the less fortunate members of society.

𝗠𝗴𝗮 𝗞𝗮-𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗻, 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵! 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝗯-𝗪𝗢𝗪-𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸!📣✨

Last 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the I.S. Shogunate held its annual outreach program at 𝗗𝗼ñ𝗮 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿. Together with the children and their parents, the day was filled with fun games, shared laughter, and meaningful moments.

We were also grateful to have 𝗠𝘀. 𝗥𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻, an MKD Nihongo professor, who joined and supported the activity. Our heartfelt thanks as well to 𝗠𝗿𝘀. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗚𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗮, Doña Pilar Day Care Center person-in-charge, for assisting us in making this event possible.

The day ended with smiles as the children brought home loot bags and school supplies, made possible through the donations collected by the I.S. Shogunate throughout the year.

Activities like this remind us that the I.S. Shogunate is not only about strengthening our organization internally, but also about reaching out and giving back to the community with our Mga Ka-Shogun.

The MKD I.S Shogunate proudly celebrates our exceptional 1st-year BSED student, 𝓣𝓸𝓼𝓱𝓮𝓪 𝓛𝓮𝓲 𝓑𝓪𝓵𝓾𝓷𝓽𝓸, for earning both the 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐉𝐮𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 and the 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 at the 53rd Nihongo Speech Contest held recently by the Japan Foundation Manila at the Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Mandaluyong City on February 28, 2026.

Standing among the seven presenters, she delivered her speech in confidence during this year's Nihongo Fiesta and earned recognition for her outstanding performance.

Mga Ka-Shoguns, today’s scoop looks into the enduring power of organized crime and its impact on state authority in Mexico.

🇲🇽 𝗠𝗘𝗫𝗜𝗖𝗢: 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗟 𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗔𝗟𝗟

Drug cartels in Mexico continue to shape security, governance, and daily life. Among the most dominant is the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), a group known for its rapid expansion and extreme use of force.

A major turning point came when Mexican forces reportedly killed its long-time leader, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, widely known as El Mencho. Wanted for years by both Mexico and the United States, his death was expected to weaken the cartel. Instead, the CJNG responded with widespread blockades and coordinated attacks, paralyzing highways and cities, including Guadalajara, and demonstrating its deep territorial control.

Based in Jalisco, the CJNG operates across key regions such as Michoacán, Guanajuato, Sinaloa, and Baja California, engaging rivals and forming shifting alliances. Despite leadership losses, the cartel remains firmly embedded in Mexico’s criminal landscape, raising serious questions about state capacity, security, and the rule of law.

𝐇𝐀𝐈𝐊𝐔 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄!

俳句 /はい・く/ is a form of traditional Japanese poetry that consists of three phrases composed of 17 morae in a 5–7–5 pattern. It traditionally includes a きれじ (cutting word), which creates a pause or emotional emphasis, and a きご (seasonal reference), grounding the poem in a specific time of year. Despite its brevity, haiku captures profound meaning through carefully chosen words and vivid imagery.

Inspired by this timeless tradition of Japanese poetry, the 3rd Year students explore the art of haiku—where simplicity meets depth, and every syllable carries intention. Through their verses, they express reflection, creativity, and a growing appreciation for the beauty found in fleeting moments.

Today, we’re back with our Kaiwa Series, featuring the participation of selected I.S. Shogunate members and 3rd Year ABIS-JLS students.

For this month’s topic, we’re focusing on 「これ、お願いします」 — “𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀, 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲.”

This phrase is commonly used when making a polite request or when choosing from available options. It’s a simple yet respectful way to ask for something in everyday Japanese conversation.
