Yesterday, June 8, 2026, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake, the strongest to hit the Philippines since 1990, struck off the coast of Sarangani, Mindanao. The devastation has been immense, and the communities closest to our hearts have been deeply affected.

Among the hardest-hit areas are Jose Abad Santos, Sarangani Province, and General Santos City, places where many of our ECOFI churches are rooted. As of this writing, at least 16 churches have been reported as fully damaged, and the number continues to rise.

𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙨𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙞𝙣 𝘽𝙞𝙜 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙪𝙨, 𝙂𝙡𝙖𝙣, 𝙎𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙. 𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙘𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙨.
