𝗬𝗢𝗥𝗣 🤝 𝗗𝗔𝗩𝗔𝗢 𝗥𝗨𝗚𝗕𝗬

Following the issuance of the implementing rules and regulations by the 𝘿𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙤 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙡 (𝘿𝘾𝙔𝘿𝘾)and the Davao City Youth Development Office for its current and upcoming member organizations, the Davao Durians RFC/Davao Rugby Inc participated for its re-accreditation and revalidation status during the 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙊𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 (𝙔𝙊𝙍𝙋) caravan.

The club was represented by community coaches, Cb Saldaña (𝘼𝙣𝙖𝙬𝙞𝙢 𝙍𝙪𝙜𝙗𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙆𝙤𝙩𝙖 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙮 𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧) and Randy Saldaña Moranta (𝙆𝙤𝙩𝙖 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙮 𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙚𝙜𝙠𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣 𝙍𝙪𝙜𝙗𝙮). Both gents warmly welcomed aspiring organizations.

The Davao Durians RFC currently represents the 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 and the 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 in the DCYDC.

YORP provides youth-led and youth-serving organizations access to the National Youth Commission - initiated programs, exchange programs, leadership conferences, and official recognition in local and national government.

A standout performance displayed by the resilient yet inspired Durians North team, undermanned in the championship match against the formidable Durians South team, to claim the men's T1 Tag Men's title.

The Lady Durians successfully defend the T1 Women's title while the DuriKans claimed the Men's Tackle crown, with both matches against the spirited hosts Nabunturan Abante-rose and Abanteros respectively.

Learning never stops as the level of play at this year's Simballay Fest proves that rugby is thriving in Davao Region. Shoutout to all volunteers, participating teams Davao Apo Rugby and Tagum City Rugby Club, Bina, Bulawan, and partners for making this event possible.

A proud moment for Telesforo Singson National High School unfolded at the Simballay Tag Rugby Festival Finals, where the young stars of Davao Durians South faced their former coach, 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚 𝐉𝐫. of Davao Durians North. Both teams had been flawless and undefeated in the elimination rounds, making this finals clash the ultimate test of skill, and heart.

Representing Davao Durians South, 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐉𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚, 𝐑𝐡𝐞𝐲𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧, 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨, 𝐀𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐳𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐥, and 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐬 gave their all, showing the lessons they had learned under their mentor.

But experience and mastery prevailed. Randy Moranta Jr., leading Durians North with calm precision, turned strategy into results and guided his team to a hard-fought victory over his former students.

While the scoreboard reflected the outcome, the story went deeper — a tale of growth, respect, and the lasting impact of a mentor shaping the next generation. The juniors may have lost the match, but they left the field carrying pride, lessons, and inspiration from the coach who still stands tall.

Ten years later and this gold still shines bright. The day Davao City got its first ever gold medal in Rugby in a national tournament. A proud moment for the city's grassroots rugby program.
