The Union of Filipino Tourism Students – UM Chapter successfully conducted the 2nd Professional Skills and Development Program (PSDP): Cabin Crew Training on Personal Development last May 23, 2026 at Cagliary Hall, University of Mindanao.

The seminar featured discussions on personal grooming, poise and confidence, communication skills, and cabin crew professionalism, essential qualities every future tourism professional must develop.

Participants also enjoyed interactive activities such as makeup tutorials, in-flight safety demonstration activities, and discussions on handling passenger and cabin crew relationships professionally and calmly.

Additionally, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our resource speaker, Ms. Bassemae Timbang-Caharian, former Cebu Pacific Cabin Crew and proud UM Tourism alumna, for sharing her experiences, expertise, and inspiring journey with our future tourism professionals.

✨ 𝐍𝐀𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐊𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐒 𝐅𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐀𝐋 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟏 ✨

Day 1 of the Nayong CHE Skills Festival 2026 was filled with energy as Tourism Management students showcased their talents and skills through the Travel Vlog, Digital Tourism Start-Up, Tour Guiding Domestic, and In-Flight Safety Demonstration and Emergency Response competitions under the 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘍𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘰 𝘛𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘮 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴– 𝘜𝘔 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘳.

Representing different colorful festivals in the Philippines, the teams proudly embodied the spirit and culture of the Pahiyas Festival, MassKara Festival, Pintados Festival, Kadayawan Festival, and Higantes Festival — bringing vibrant energy and Filipino pride into every performance.

Each team brought their own unique ideas, confidence, and teamwork to the stage, making every presentation meaningful and inspiring. More than just a competition, the event became a platform for students to express their passion for tourism and show what future tourism professionals are truly capable of.

We would also like to extend our sincerest gratitude to our esteemed judges, Mr. Rolan Emboscado, Ms. Carol Hernan, and Ms. Jennifer Ramirez, for sharing their time, expertise, and valuable insights in evaluating the performances of our future tourism professionals.

Congratulations to all participants for giving their best and making the first day of the festival a success!
