Making Progress on Record Disposition at WFMC!

Today, our team tackled 10 boxes of old clinical records for proper disposition. While we have another 15 boxes to go next month, this is a great start!

Why is record disposition important?

Data Security: Disposing of outdated records protects patient privacy by eliminating unnecessary storage of sensitive information.

Streamlined Management: A smaller volume of records allows for easier organization and retrieval of essential documents, improving efficiency for staff.

We acknowledge the remaining boxes and recognize the need for a long-term solution. Here are some suggestions for consideration:

Invest in an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system: This would allow for secure digital storage of patient data, eliminating the need for physical copies in the future.

Develop a Records Retention Policy: Establishing clear guidelines on how long different types of records need to be kept helps determine which documents can be disposed of safely.
