Davao City Mayor Sebastian Baste Duterte welcomed German Ambassador to the Philippines His Excellency Dr. Andreas Pfaffernoschke during a courtesy call in Davao City on July 30, 2026.

The visit marked Ambassador Pfaffernoschke’s first official trip to the city, focusing on strengthening Germany-Davao relations and exploring potential investment opportunities.

Earlier, the German Embassy in the Philippines, together with the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, hosted the Regional Green Investment Dialogue at Dusit Thani Residence Davao. The gathering brought together German companies, investors, and key stakeholders to explore opportunities in green technology, renewable energy, and sustainable investments.

Construction of The Paragon Davao continues to progress in 2026, bringing Cebu Landmasters, Inc.’s flagship mixed-use development closer to completion.

Envisioned as an emerging lifestyle destination in Davao City, the project will combine residential living, hospitality, retail, business, and events in one integrated community.

Phase 1 of the development will feature One Paragon (residential condominium), Citadines Paragon Davao (serviced residences), The Paragon Davao Convention Center, and The Paragon Davao Lifestyle Mall.

The lifestyle mall has also begun revealing its first lineup of retail and dining tenants, including Robinsons Easymart, Watsons, Pickup Coffee, Matcha Bar, Kindred, Potato Corner, Lay Bare, J Creations, David’s Salon, Daily Sparkle, Frozz, and more establishments set to open soon.

Once completed, The Paragon Davao is expected to become one of the city’s premier destinations for living, business, shopping, dining, meetings, and leisure.

LOOK: Just days after the visit of Denmark Ambassador to the Philippines Franz-Michael Skjold Mellbin, another foreign envoy visited Davao City as Australian Deputy Ambassador Nicholas Kay paid a courtesy call on Sebastian Duterte on Thursday, May 15.

The meeting focused on exploring potential partnerships between Australia and Davao City, particularly in agriculture, education, and investment opportunities.

This year also marks the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and the Philippines.
