Today, we remember the life, courage, and sacrifice of 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗼 “𝗡𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘆” 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗝𝗿.,, whose unwavering commitment to democracy and freedom became a defining chapter in Philippine history.

His life reminds us that leadership is not measured by position, power, or recognition, but by the courage to stand for what is right, even when the cost is great.

As student leaders, we carry a responsibility that extends beyond our titles. We are entrusted with the voices, concerns, and aspirations of the students we represent. Like the legacy Ninoy left behind, may we have the courage to speak when silence is easier, to stand when standing is difficult, and to serve even when no one is watching.

Today, may we remember that democracy is sustained not only by those who fight for it, but also by every generation willing to protect it.

From the first call to order to the final reflection, 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧: 𝗖𝗔𝗦 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 brought together student leaders of the 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 for a full day of learning, collaboration, challenge, and leadership in action.
Held on 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗣𝗨 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼-𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺, CONQUEST opened with a simple yet powerful challenge: to answer the call to lead.

The morning session began with The Call to Lead, where the roles and responsibilities of CASLC officers and the organizational structure of the council were discussed, giving student leaders a clearer understanding of their positions, responsibilities, and place within the organization.

The training then moved into the practical side of organizational leadership through Vital Papers of an Organization, led by Hon. 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗥𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗥𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗧. 𝗟𝘂𝗯𝗴𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗻, followed by Parliamentary Rules and Procedures with 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗗. 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗱. These sessions equipped participants with essential knowledge on organizational documents, proper proceedings, and responsible decision-making.

But CONQUEST was more than lectures.

The afternoon session then shifted from learning about leadership to hearing what leadership actually feels like.

Through Voices of Leadership, participants heard firsthand experiences from former CAS student leaders, 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗥𝗮𝘀𝗵𝘆𝗱 𝗔. 𝗘𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗠. 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮, followed by insights from 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗲𝘂𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗧𝘂𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻, whose discussion brought leadership, public service, advocacy, responsibility, and real-world experience into the conversation.

The day continued with a Workshop and Team Presentation, where student leaders transformed what they had learned into actual organizational outputs, putting their creativity, strategy, communication, teamwork, and decision-making to the test.

And as CONQUEST came to a close, the CONQUERORS' FLAME: A Collective Leadership Reflection Activity gave everyone a moment to look beyond the activities and reflect on the kind of leader they choose to become.

The day ended with the recognition of individuals and teams who stood out throughout the training, celebrating not only performance, but also initiative, creativity, engagement, strategy, and leadership potential.

Leadership is not simply about holding a position. Student leaders are the custodians of student trust. And CONQUEST was a reminder that the responsibility to lead does not begin when we are called leaders. It begins when we choose to act like one.

Leadership is tested beyond the position you hold. It is shaped by experience, responsibility, service, and the courage to stand when others need you most.

As part of 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧: 𝗖𝗔𝗦 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗲𝘂𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗧𝘂𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻 shares his experiences and insights on leadership, public service, advocacy, and navigating challenges beyond the walls of an organization.

𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀.

For this session of 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧: 𝗖𝗔𝗦 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗗. 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗱, 𝗟𝗛𝗢𝗥 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, guides our student leaders through Parliamentary Rules and Procedures, equipping them with the principles needed to conduct meetings, manage discussions, and navigate organizational decision-making effectively.

Because when leaders know the rules, every voice has a place, every discussion has direction, and every decision has purpose.

As part of 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧: 𝗖𝗔𝗦 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗥𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗥𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗧. Currently, Hon. Prince Jose Jacob M. Morales, Governor of the College of Arts and Sciences Local Council, leads the session on “Roles and Responsibilities of Each CASLC Officer,” equipping our student leaders with a deeper understanding of the duties, expectations, and responsibilities that come with every leadership position.
