DONATION DRIVE UPDATE | Mindanao Earthquake Relief Response

A week ago, many communities across Mindanao were shaken by a series of strong earthquakes. Since then, we have witnessed something equally powerful: people coming together to help.

As of 8:00 AM on June 22, 2026, our relief drive has raised โ‚ฑ314,800 for families and communities affected by the disaster. This would not have been possible without every person who donated, volunteered, visited our Community Yard Sale, shared our posts, or encouraged others to support the cause.

We are also grateful to the organizations and individuals who have partnered with us and placed their trust in this initiative. Your support continues to help us reach more communities in need.

While we are encouraged by what we have accomplished together, many families are still recovering and need continued assistance. For this reason, we will continue accepting cash and in kind donations until June 29, 2026 as we prepare the next rounds of relief support.

If you would like to contribute, please refer to the donation details below and take a moment to review the donation guidelines in the publication material. We are currently accepting nonperishable food items, school supplies, hygiene kits, emergency essentials, and other approved relief goods. Please note that we are no longer accepting clothing donations, including used clothes, in compliance with current government guidelines and instructions for relief operations.

For inquiries and partnership opportunities, you may contact us at 09544785572 or message Harold Banggay or May Fiel Divino.

Thank you for reminding us that even in difficult times, kindness, generosity, and community always find a way forward.

Join us aboard the second run of the From Currents to Courage Project, an initiative that continues to foster informed, inclusive, and forward-looking conversations on maritime security, cooperation, and shared responsibility.

As the Philippines and the United States commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Philippinesโ€“United States diplomatic relations and the 75th Anniversary of the Mutual Defense Treaty (MDT), this project provides an opportunity to reflect on decades of partnership anchored in shared history, mutual interests, and a collective commitment to regional stability.

As an archipelagic nation, the Philippines remains inherently connected to its maritime domain, a vital space that shapes national security, economic resilience, and regional stability. With maritime spaces becoming increasingly complex and contested, challenges such as unauthorized maritime activities, gray-zone operations, rising geopolitical tensions, and the spread of misinformation and disinformation underscore the need to strengthen public understanding of maritime security. Through informed dialogue and meaningful engagement, Filipinos can contribute to fostering cooperation, safeguarding shared interests, and advancing stability in maritime spaces.

As part of this initiative, participants are invited to Toward Calm Waters: Dialogue and Cooperation in Maritime Spaces, a forum that will explore maritime security, regional stability, and the role of diplomacy and cooperation in addressing shared maritime concerns.

The forum will be followed by Exploring Maritime Cooperation: The Role of International Partnerships on Maritime Security, a high-level roundtable discussion featuring representatives from Canada, Australia, Japan, France, the United States, and the Philippines. The discussion will examine international cooperation, maritime partnerships, regional security challenges, and collaborative approaches to strengthening maritime capabilities and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

For the complete schedule and venue details, please refer to the event poster.

Apply here: https://bit.ly/FromCurrents2Courage or by scanning the QR code on the poster on or before June 15, 2026. Please be advised that virtual attendance via Zoom is fully supported, provided that participants complete their application prior to the event.

Set sail with us as we navigate toward stronger partnerships, informed dialogue, and shared responsibility in our seas.

This project is organized by the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines, American Spaces Philippines, United States Government Alumni Association - Davao, Mariknows Philippines, and Ateneo de Davao University, in partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs, Republic of the Philippines, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Eastern Mindanao Command, AFP, Philippine Navy โ€“ Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao, Civil Relations Service Armed Forces of the Philippines, Civil-Military Operations School, CMOC AFP - 5th Civil Relations Group, Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Mindanao State University, MSU Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography, Notre Dame of Jolo College, and DMMA Student Organization of Marine Engineering.
