๐ˆ๐ ๐๐‡๐Ž๐“๐Ž๐’ โ”‚On May 15, 2026, the children of Foundation of Balay Pasilungan Inc. in Bankerohan, Davao City, filled the halls with harmony during a Chorale Workshop led by Mapรบa Consort Harmonia.

As part of Mapรบa Malayan Colleges Mindanaoโ€™s National Heritage Month celebration, the workshop went beyond teaching musicโ€”it embraced the timeless songs of the Catholic Church, nurturing participants' talent and cultural identity.

This initiative further reflects the values of the Sustainable Development Goals as it aims to advance SDG 4: Quality Education by empowering children through creative learning and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities by preserving heritage through music and tradition.

In line with the Brigada Eskwela 2026โ€“2027 theme, ๐๐š๐ฒ๐š๐ง๐ข๐ก๐š๐ง ๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐š ๐ฌ๐š ๐Œ๐š๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐š๐  ๐ง๐š ๐๐š๐š๐ซ๐š๐ฅ๐š๐ง, Mapรบa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (Mapรบa MCM) invites you to take part in ๐€๐๐จ๐ฉ๐ญ-๐š-๐‹๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ง๐ž๐ซ: ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐š๐๐š ๐„๐ฌ๐ค๐ฐ๐ž๐ฅ๐š ๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฌ.

This initiative aims to extend support both to our internal community and to our partner schools through two meaningful ways of participation:

1. ๐€๐๐จ๐ฉ๐ญ-๐š-๐‹๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ง๐ž๐ซ (๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐’๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ)
You may sponsor a child of our utility and security personnel by providing a complete school supply kit appropriate to their grade level (elementary or high school). This effort helps ease the financial burden on their families as they prepare for the upcoming school year.

2. ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐š๐๐š ๐„๐ฌ๐ค๐ฐ๐ž๐ฅ๐š ๐„๐ง๐ ๐š๐ ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ (๐„๐ฑ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐’๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ)
You may also take part in Brigada Eskwela activities by:
โ€ข Volunteering during June 1โ€“5, 2026 (assisting in school clean-up, repainting, organizing learning spaces, and minor repairs)
โ€ข Donating cleaning, painting, and repair materials (e.g., paint, brushes/rollers, cleaning supplies, basic tools)

On April 23โ€“24, 2026, Mapรบa Malayan Colleges Mindanaoโ€™s Center for Service-Learning and Community Engagement visited Lorenzo Elementary School, Jose Vicente Ferriols Elementary School, Binugao Central Elementary School, Subasta Elementary School, and Piedad Central Elementary Schoolโ€”building on the earlier April 6 Touchpoint Meeting with potential partner schools to further strengthen ties and open doors for collaboration.

Together with school principals, these engagements explore opportunities not only through the institutionโ€™s ๐’๐Ž๐‹๐•๐„-๐ˆ๐ญ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ, but also across broader initiatives in service-learning and community engagement.

This Earth Month initiative champions SDG 13: Climate Action and SDG 14: Life Below Water, reminding us that protecting our coasts means safeguarding our future.
