Matina Community Pantry

Matina Community Pantry It started with one simple idea
We believe small acts of kindness can grow into something bigger. Magtinabangay. Mag-inambitay. Mag-amuhay

From the pandemic to Davao City, this became a community effort serving those in need.

A tribute to the heart of our community. 💐
Happy Mother’s Day to all kinds of moms! A special shoutout to the mothers who show us every day what selflessness looks like. To those who donated, cooked, volunteered, and brought their children along to help prepare meals thank you for sharing your time and your hearts with us.

To our donors, we are deeply grateful for the support that makes this pantry possible. And to our beneficiaries especially the mothers who persevere through life’s storms for the sake of their families we honor your incredible resilience.
The world is more beautiful because mothers continue to uplift one another and prove to the younger generation that you can never go wrong in choosing kindness. 💛

As of the moment, we’re planning a pop-up merienda for our drivers. Tara G! We’re hoping to partner with a carinderia so we can serve food directly there and avoid transporting additional items. Can you recommend a place that might be willing to collaborate with us?

Still feeling grateful for everyone who showed up last Labor Day. ❤️

Because of every young volunteer, family member, friend, donor, and supporter, we were able to give more than double and reach more people in need.

Small acts of service create ripples bigger than we imagine. Wherever life takes you, may you always be guided by a compass of kindness.
Where to next? Tuloy ang kabutihan—tara, G?

Last Labor Day, we were reminded: kindness grows when people choose to show up. 🕊️
Grateful for every young volunteer, family member, friend, donor, and supporter who chose kindness. Because of your generosity, we were able to reach more people and give more than double our initial goal!
Small acts of service create a ripple effect far bigger than we can imagine. Wherever life takes you, may you always be guided by a compass of kindness.
Tuloy ang kabutihan—tara, G?

We opened two kitchens for our Labor Day Community Cookout, and seeing everyone show up—families with kids, students, and people who simply wanted to help—was really something special. People were peeling vegetables, cooking, packing meals, and doing whatever they could to help out.

And just like that, the ripple of kindness multiplied from every volunteer who gave their time and energy, to every donor who shared what they could. Because of your generosity, over 900 binalot and packed meals, plus merienda and drinks, reached PUV, PUJ, and tricycle drivers, as well as delivery riders working hard every day.

Thank you for showing that even in difficult times, there is still so much good in people. Thank you for keeping the spirit of bayanihan alive.

Atm preparing something for our drivers tomorrow
Can you guess what it is?
It’s currently trending across the whole Philippines, but it has long been a Muslim favorite.
It’s simple but super flavorful warm rice topped with savory, shredded meat, wrapped in banana leaves for that extra aroma and love.
Any guesses? 😊

A simple meal does more than just fill a stomach.

For a driver on a long shift or a family facing a calamity, it might be the only decent meal they have all day. More than that, it’s a reminder that they are not invisible.

When you share a plate, you share hope.

One of our volunteers shared that bayanihan means coming together to make something whole. We all have our own strengths and weaknesses, but when we unite, we fill the gaps and complement each other.

That’s the heart of our community pantry, giving what we can, and showing up for one another in simple but meaningful ways.

See you tomorrow, and let us dedicate this cookout to our dear drivers, who work tirelessly to keep our daily lives going.

And to everyone who shared and donated, daghang salamat—this wouldn’t be possible without you.
