🕊️🌈 PHOTOGRAPHER CAPTURES STUNNING “NINE-COLORED” HIMALAYAN BIRD FLYING OVER BHUTAN

A single photograph — and suddenly, the sky is holding a jewel.

The image shows a male Himalayan monal mid-flight over Bhutan, its feathers igniting with blues, greens, purples, golds, and fiery orange as sunlight passes over its wings.

Here’s what’s happening beneath the surface:

✨ Color born from light, not pigment
The bird’s feathers are naturally iridescent — meaning the colours shift and multiply depending on how light strikes microscopic structures in the plumage. What looks like many colors is light itself being bent and reflected.

✨ A creature of high places
The Himalayan monal lives in high-altitude forests and alpine meadows across Bhutan, Nepal, India, and parts of Tibet — landscapes where sky, stone, and silence meet.

✨ A national symbol
It is Nepal’s national bird, known not only for its radiant appearance, but for its distinct calls echoing through mountain terrain.

Reflection:
How much beauty exists only because of angle?
Only because of timing, light, and presence?

Call to Presence:
There are colors in the world that appear only when conditions are just right.

Some farmers in Kalinga are considering skipping their next planting cycle as worsening dry conditions and declining water availability raise fears of crop losses, the Provincial Agriculture Office said. Provincial Agriculturist Nancy O. Aowat said farmers, particularly those in rice-producing areas, are now assessing available water before deciding whether to proceed with planting. She said insufficient water could prevent crops from properly establishing and developing, prompting some farmers to forego planting rather than risk losing their investment.
