๐๐ก ๐ฃ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฆ | STรDIG CONFERENCE: WHERE EXCELLENCE REACHES NEW HEIGHTS
Anchored in learning, growth, and meaningful engagement, the STรDIG cadets of DMMA College of Southern Philippines embarked on an enriching 2-day journey into maritime excellence.
The first day opened with a solemn prayer, the national anthem, and welcome remarks, setting the tone for a day of insight and collaboration. Industry leaders from Stodig Ship Management, including Mr. Erik W. Mohn (Director, Crewing) and Mr. Anis Solberg (Managing Director), led discussions on high-risk rules and regulations. They also emphasized awareness of harassment and bullying, cultural awareness, assertive communication, financial literacy, and the Stodig safety culture. The day also featured breakout sessions that encouraged active participation, idea-sharing, and teamwork among cadets.
The second day focused on both professional and personal development. It included sessions on mental health, crew benefits, provident fund, seafarersโ rights, and the crew planning process. Cadets also gained valuable knowledge about government benefits such as SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG, alongside discussions on STCW and maritime compliance. The conference highlighted cadet excellence through presentations from Batch 28 UCLM and Batch 29 DMMA, followed by closing activities including an audio-visual presentation by the STODIG crew, a wrap-up, and certificate distribution.
Over the span of two days, cadets gained knowledge, strengthened their essential skills, and drew inspiration from experienced maritime professionals. Preparing them to navigate their future careers with confidence and responsibility.
The cadets express their sincere appreciation to all the speakers, organizers, and participants who made this conference a great success. Together, we continue to prepare the next generation of seafarers for a safer and stronger maritime industry.
