As a peacebuilding NGO in Mindanao, our programs strongly align with UN SDG 16, while also supporting education, water and sanitation, livelihoods, and community development. WHO WE ARE: Add Peace Mindanao Inc., as a non-profit organization, aims to create an environment that facilitates conflict resolution, minimizes violence, and supports long-lasting peace in Mindanao since 2022. Our distinctiv

e role in Mindanao involves providing valuable insights to other agencies and institutions focused on peace and security while emphasizing the unique government resources and expertise that can help resolve violent conflicts. We are committed to promoting peace in (post) war areas and preventing a return to conflict by addressing root causes. We also focus on repairing damaged relationships between conflicting groups or individuals, dispelling harmful stereotypes, and building strong community bonds. WHAT WE DO: We work closely with government agencies, think tanks, and NGOs to encourage open discussions aimed at strengthening Mindanao's role in promoting peace and security. Our main focus is on showcasing the unique experiences and resources within the local government system to effectively address conflicts. We also conduct research to gather and share relevant information, raising awareness and advocating for positive change, this also include monitoring and evaluating programs, especially those related to participation and governance aligned with local development goals. We also support peacebuilding and provide training to local development professionals, equipping them with the skills to handle conflict situations. Our expertise extends to developing and implementing programs before, during, and after instances of violent conflict, addressing the drivers of such conflicts and violence, while also strengthening resilience to build sustainable peace in Mindanao. Just like a person can't be healthy if one part is strong while another is weak, a stunning capital city like Manila doesn't make the whole country beautiful. This is why we prioritize addressing the challenges in the south, which is still catching up to the progress seen in the north. Itโ€™s crucial to consider Mindanao. The challenges in Mindanao are national issues, and people from other parts of the country shouldn't dismiss them as distant or irrelevant. In reality, Filipino taxpayers finance efforts to address the โ€œMoro rebellionโ€, and communist-terrorist activities, soldiers recruited to combat these elements often hail from different regions of the Philippines, and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Mindanao frequently seek refuge in crowded cities in Luzon and Visayas. Add Peace Mindanao Inc., represented by Executive Director Jai Cawa, paid a courtesy and coordination visit and held a meeting with the Municipal Mayor Alfredo Coro II of LGU Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte, and met with Dean Ariel Go, who leads the Dental Mission of Unciano Colleges Inc. โ€“ College of Dentistry from Manila.

The visit also included coordination with the Del Carmen Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer (MENRO), Gina Barquilla, and MENRO representatives, as part of Add Peace Mindanao Inc.โ€™s continuing efforts to build partnerships for the upcoming Environmental Month activities in June 2026.

Guided by the Sustainable Development Goals, Add Peace Mindanao Inc. remains committed to strengthening collaboration with LGU Del Carmen, MENRO, and potential partner organizations to advance environmental awareness, peacebuilding, community resilience, and inclusive local development.

We are expanding our executive support team and currently hiring two remote positions that will work closely with the Founder supporting her across NGO-related tasks, International partners and clients admin and operational work, Personal productivity, scheduling, and projects:

๐Ÿ“จ Base Pay: P35,000/month (Full Time)

๐Ÿ’ป Private Executive Assistant (PEA)
๐Ÿ“จ Base Pay: P18,000/month (Part-time)

These hybrid roles will be responsible for keeping the Founder organized, efficient, and on top of everything - combines personal assistance, executive support, and operations coordination.

This is a remote-first role, with very occasional in-person tasks and travel when requested. Most days, you will work from home on an international zone schedule.

Add Peace Mindanao Inc. (APMI) was invited to an introductory gathering for Humanitarian Partnership, an event hosted by the Tzu Chi Foundation on March 1, 2025, at JMC Events Function Hall, Paramount Garden Complex, River Front Corporate Center, Davao City.

APMI Executive Director Jai Cawa was warmly received by Tzu Chi Foundation Davao City OIC Mr. Nelson Chua along with dedicated staff and volunteers. The event also gathered various partners and participants from across Mindanao, highlighting the collective commitment to humanitarian service.

This gathering marks the beginning of a peace partnership between APMI and Tzu Chi Foundation, aiming to strengthen community service, volunteerism, and sustainable development, particularly in far-flung areas of Mindanao.

The Tzu Chi Foundation, a global Buddhist humanitarian organization, holds special consultative status at the UN Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) and serves as a co-chair of the UN Inter-agency Task Force on Religion and Sustainable Development Multi-Faith Advisory Council.

Add Peace Mindanao Inc. joined the Philippine Navyโ€™s โ€˜Civil-Military Operation (CMO) From The Seaโ€™ in Barangay Tagbay, Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte, on December 20, 2024.

The event, organized with support from government agencies, private organizations, and local government units, offered free medical services to the community. These services included general check-ups, dental care, X-rays, eye exams with free reading glasses, and blood sugar tests, among others.

In addition to the medical services, gift-giving and the distribution of relief packs were conducted to support the community further. To show appreciation for the dedication of the volunteers, doctors, troops, and staff involved in the activity, Add Peace Mindanao Inc. also provided 300 meals to ensure they were adequately sustained throughout the day.

During the event, Executive Director Jai Cawa was presented with a token of appreciation by the Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao, Capt. Rogelio F. Lachica Jr. PN(GSC) for the organizationโ€™s support and contributions to the success of the activity.

This initiative allowed the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao and its partners to reach underserved communities, providing them with much-needed healthcare and assistance.
