DAVAO CITY โ€” In September 2017, TEAM Humanity joined the "Run for a Change, Run for a Cause" held at People's Park in Davao City in support of communities affected by the Marawi conflict.

The fundraising event brought together volunteers, organizations, and community members to show solidarity with families displaced by the crisis and to help raise support for the continuing humanitarian needs of the people of Marawi. TEAM Humanity proudly participated alongside fellow advocates in this meaningful community initiative.

DAVAO CITY โ€” In 2017, TEAM Humanity, through its partner organization Katipunan sa Pagbabago ng Sambayanang Pilipino (KPSP), joined various sectoral and community organizations during a parade held in Davao City in observance of the 31st anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.

During the gathering, KPSP members and partner organizations expressed their support for then-President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The event brought together members of different organizations and community groups in a public gathering held to commemorate the occasion, with participants marching through the city's main streets.

DAVAO CITY โ€” Following the launch of the IP Women Organic Village, TEAM Humanity and its partners visited the project site in Barangay Pandaitan, Paquibato District to begin implementing activities that would support Indigenous Peoples women and their communities.

The visit focused on engaging local beneficiaries, coordinating with community leaders, and laying the foundation for livelihood, agriculture, and capacity-building programs under the Mindanao Ancestral Domain Economic (MADE) Project.

DAVAO CITY โ€” Government leaders, development partners, and community representatives gathered during the launch of the IP Women Organic Village, a Gender and Development (GAD) initiative designed to create more opportunities for Indigenous Peoples women in Paquibato.

Messages of support were delivered by former Department of Agriculture Undersecretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, TEAM Humanity Director Richard "B**g" Aรฑo II, and other partners who emphasized the value of collaboration in community development. DAVAO CITY โ€” The anniversary of the IP Women Organic Village in Paquibato District marked another milestone for the Mindanao Ancestral Domain Economic (MADE) Project, bringing together community members, government agencies, and development partners in support of Indigenous Peoples women.

At the heart of the initiative were training programs in food processing, organic agriculture, and traditional medicine designed to strengthen skills and create sustainable livelihood opportunities. The progress of the project reflects the collective efforts of Peace 911, the AFP 16th Infantry Battalion, the Department of Agriculture Region XI, the Agricultural Training Institute XI, the Department of Social Welfare and Development XI, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the Paquibato Development Tribal Council, the Philippine National Police, and many other partners committed to community development.

DAVAO CITY โ€” TEAM Humanity led a multi-sector tree-growing initiative along the Talomo River and other major riverbanks in partnership with the Knights of Columbus Council 9573, government agencies, and community stakeholders. Then-Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte also joined the activity in support of the environmental effort.

By planting Malibago trees along riverbanks and coastal tributaries, the initiative aimed to help reduce soil erosion, lessen flood risks, and restore the natural environment. The activity reflects TEAM Humanity's long-standing belief that protecting nature is an important step toward building safer and more resilient communities

MAGUINDANAO โ€” Before the launch of the Fishing for Peace Project, TEAM Humanity worked alongside the AFP 40th Infantry Battalion (40IB), the Local Government Unit of Datu Piang, and the Joint Special Operations Task Forceโ€“Philippines (JSOTF-P) to conduct site validation and community social preparation.

Careful planning and close coordination with local partners helped ensure that the project would respond to the needs of the community and establish a strong foundation for sustainable livelihood and peace-building efforts.

MAGUINDANAO โ€” TEAM Humanity joined the Armed Forces of the Philippines Eastern Mindanao Command (AFP Eastern Mindanao Command), the Joint Special Operations Task Forceโ€“Philippines (JSOTF-P), Mindanao State Universityโ€“Dinaig, and the Department of Agriculture through the US-PL 480 Program in conducting aquaculture training for former M**F combatants in Datu Piang.

More than teaching fishing and aquaculture skills, the Fishing for Peace Project encouraged communities to rebuild through productive livelihoods. The initiative reflected a shared belief that creating economic opportunities can help strengthen peace, restore dignity, and support long-term community resilience.
