KESULTANAN MELAYU MINDANAO BUILD ON 1385 BY THE ROYAL COUPLE AL SHARIFUL ULAMA AL SHARIF MARAJA (CROWN PRINCE FROM MALAYA) & PUTRI SITTIE PARAMISULI (DAUGHTER OF ASMORO QONDI/SHARIF AULIYA/ KARIMUL MAKHDUM IN SULU).
In 1330 AD, the third missionary who preaches Islam in Mindanao was Maulana Ibrahim Shariff Auliya known as Asmoro Qondi in Nusantara and Karimul Makhdum in Sulu. Mindanao was called MAI before by some traders from Yunan China.
In this particular year, there was already a big Clan of Tabunavi from the Arab words (Tabiun Nabbi) who ruled Mai (Mindanao) from the Srivijayan Empire. This Empire founded in 650 AD. It was a Buddhist thalassocracy Indonesian empire based on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia which influenced much of Southeast Asia. The common languages they used were old Malay and Sanskrit.
This Missionary (Sharif Auliya/Asmoro Qondi) married the Princess daughter of the Ruler of the TABUNAVI CLAN and begot only one daughter who’s named Putri Sittie Paramisuli (Permaisuri/Princess).
In the year 1380 AD, another Missionary came to Mindanao in the name of “Al Shariful Ulama Al-Sharif Maraja” who was the head of all Jurist in the old Johore Muar Lama of Malaya (Malaysia), a son of Muhammad Shah. who was the Crown Prince in Malaya.
In 1381 AD Shariff Auliya came back to Mindanao for the second time to let her only Princess daughter Putri Sittie Paramisuli marry Al Shariful Ulama Al-Sharif Maraja.
After the marriage, the royal couple started to build and established the Kesultanan Melayu Mindanao in 1385 with the support of the Tabunavi Clan. The royal couple had two (2) sons named: Maharaja Tabunaway and Raja Memaluk or Mamalu.
His Majesty Maharaja Tabunaway married a Malay Princess in ................Johore and begot one son (Maharaja Sambegan) and one daughter Putri Tonina. He brought his family to Mindanao. While Raja Mamaluk migrated to Zamboanga Peninsula after he established his realm on the upland side of Kutabato.
...and this is where the roots of royalty and nobility begun in Mindanao Darussalam and started to sprout.
In the year 1420 here comes another Islamic Preacher in the name of Muhammad Kabunsuan. He was sent by the Sultan of Johore after the return of Al Shariful Ulama Al-Sharif Maraja to Johore as he was sick during those times.
Muhammad Kabunsuan welcomed by His Majesty Maharaja Tabunaway who was the mighty ruler of Mindanao together with his younger brother Raja Mamalu and invited Kabunsuan to his Palace (Torogan) made of bricks at the top of the Tantawan Hill now called (PC Hill) in the heart of Kutabatu City. (written in the oldest hikayat in Champa)
Muhammad Kabunsuan was the son of Jamadil Qubro and Jauhar Binti Tun Hamzah who was only a Hulubalang (Military Commander) from Malay kingdom. He married Putri Tonina, the only daughter of HM Maharaja Tabunaway, and had three (3) beautiful Princesses:
1. Putri Milakandi 2. Putri Mamuranda, and 3. Putri Baibatullah.
Putri Milakandi passed away at an early age. Putri Mamuranda married to Malang sa Inged from Raja Buayan people and got one son Sirungan and installed him as Raja for Raja Buayan peosple.
His Majesty Maharaja Tabunaway anointed Muhammad Kabunsuan and awarded an honorary title as the first “Sultan of Maguindanao” to a small community along the Maguindanao creek at the heart of the city of Kutabatu and Malabang only. Muhammad Kabunsuan left Mindanao in 1500 when the Ruler of Demak Raden Pati of Java, Indonesia requested his presence to lead a prayer in the inauguration of a big Mosque in Java.
After the prayer, Sharif Muhammad Kabunsuan announced to the big crowd with his family & relatives that he has a family in Mindanao; he married a Princess daughter of Maharaja Tabunaway and got only three (3) beautiful Princesses and had no son.
Muhammad kabunsuan passed away in 1517 and buried in Java Indonesia and that was the end of the Sultanate of Maguindanao in Mindanao.
In 1501, another missionary came to Mindanao after Muhammad Kabunsuan back to Java Indonesia in 1500. This Islamic preacher was another Jurist from Malacca, his name was Maulana Mohammad Adam Al Qadhi who happened the first cousin of Sultan Bolkiah V reign in (1485 to 1524) in Brunei and married the Princess granddaughter of Maharaja Tabunaway..................his grave is beside the grave of ....................in Brunei....................
