Commemorating the 7 Last Words of JESUS on the Cross.
1. WORD OF FORGIVENESS
"Father, forgive them, they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34)
- Even at the peak of His suffering He still Forgive. He set the example of Forgiveness, as He Forgives we also ought to Forgive others no matter what.
2. WORD OF SALVATION
"This day you will be with me in Paradise." (Luke 23:43)
- In an instant a Criminal turning to JESUS receives SALVATION! Salvation is not a Long Process nor a Difficult one, it is just coming and Turning to JESUS now! Turn to JESUS now and in instant you will Receive FREE GIFT OF SALVATION.
3. WORD OF RESPONSIBILITY/ACCOUNTABILITY
"Woman, behold your son." (John 19:26-27)
- Jesus is leaving His mother this moment, that's why He chose His Trusted Disciple to take care of His mother. He also set an example of passing the Responsibility and Accountability. We also have a Responsibility, the is to Preach JESUS and Accountability to our Love Ones for them to Turn to Jesus now.
4. WORD OF AGONY
"My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?" (Mark 15:34; Matthew 27:46)
- This moment, Jesus felt the agony by asking His Father, why He was forsaken? But the question is, Is the Father really forsake Jesus? The answer is YES! He Forsake His Beloved Son to die on the Cross to Pay for our Sins. He Died so that we might Live.
5. WORD OF LONGINGNESS
"I thirst." (John 19:28)
- Jesus is literally thirsty this moment because of what happened to Him, on the other hand He is also Thirsty and Longing for our Life and Time for Him.
6. WORD OF VICTORY
"It is finished." (John 19:30)
- The Greek word used here is "Tetelestai" which have many meanings but is related to each other. When Jesus says it is Finished, He is pertaining to the Mission that the Father entrusted Him. He also mean that He won the Victory over the Enemy!
7. WORD OF COMMENCEMENT
"Into your hands I commit my spirit." (Luke 23:46)
- Just like the commencement exercises on the graduation where everyone rejoices, this moment of time many saints rejoice for the punishment of sin has already overcome by JESUS!
