LOOK: An Alumni-Led Seminar for Graduating Students of TUP-Cavite
On May 31, 2025, the Kapisanan ng mga Nagsipagtapos sa Teknolohikal na Unibersidad ng Pilipinas – Kampus ng Kabite Inc. hosted a seminar titled “Future-Ready TUPCians: Crafting Winning Resumes and Acing Interviews with Gender-Inclusive Strategies” for the graduating students of the Technological University of the Philippines – Cavite at the TUPC Audio-Visual Room.
The seminar began with a welcome message delivered by Ms. Mary Carlyn S. Frias, a Board Member. Her warm and engaging remarks set the tone for the event, creating an atmosphere of anticipation. Following her, Ms. Jessa Mae D. Prestado, the Secretary, took the stage to articulate the seminar’s purpose, outlining its objectives with clarity and enthusiasm, and highlighting the importance of the discussions to come.
In the first part of the seminar, Mr. Ben Joseph S. Romanillos, a Board Member, warmly introduced the first resource speaker, Ms. Sheela Anne C. Maraan, a Master Teacher 1 from Paliparan 3 Senior High School. During her insightful presentation, Ms. Maraan emphasized the critical components of crafting a compelling resume—one that not only captures the attention of prospective employers but also champions the principles of gender inclusivity. She passionately highlighted the significance of utilizing neutral language, skillfully avoiding gender-biased terminology, and showcasing a rich array of diverse experiences and competencies in a manner that appeals to a wide spectrum of candidates. By embracing these strategies, job seekers can construct resumes that genuinely resonate with individuals from all backgrounds, thereby fostering a more equitable and inclusive hiring process.
In the second part of the seminar, Mr. Ianne Shayne Sapa, a Board Member, introduced the next speaker, Ms. Soleil Awit T. Aliwalas, a Senior Human Resource Administrator from TrustBridge Global Foundation. With enthusiasm and expertise, Ms. Aliwalas shared invaluable insights on the critical dos and don’ts that candidates should keep in mind before, during, and after an interview. She provided practical tips for addressing common interview questions, equipping attendees with strategies to make a lasting impression. Additionally, she shed light on the vital role of gender inclusivity in the hiring process, emphasizing its significance in fostering a diverse and equitable workplace.
Following the seminar, Mr. Archie M. Tirol, the Vice-President, engaged in a meaningful interaction with the aspiring alumni. He seized this opportunity to underscore the crucial role that alumni play in influencing the campus environment and in mentoring current students. His insights highlighted the profound impact that former students can have in shaping the community and fostering a vibrant educational atmosphere.
Concluding the program, Mr. Mel B. Panambo, the Public Relations Officer, delivered the closing message, expressing gratitude to the participants and facilitators.
