At October 24, 2025, there was a moderate explosive eruption at Mt. Kanlaon that lasted for 3 mins. The eruption created a shockwave with a maximum of 204 Pascals by infrasound from a station five kilometres away from the crater. furthermore a 2000 meter plume rose above the vent and sulfurous fumes were strongly experienced within these Barangays Cabagnaan, Linothangan, Malaiba, and P**a.

As of Friday evening, no evacuations were issued by the local government units near kanlaon; however residents must still remain alert at all times.
