𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲.🩸

Hemophilia is a rare genetic condition where the blood lacks key clotting factors, causing bleeding to last longer than usual even after minor injuries. It can show up as frequent bruising, joint swelling, or unexplained bleeding.

Although it is inherited and more common in males, it is highly manageable with proper treatment like factor replacement therapy and prophylaxis.

Awareness matters. Early recognition helps prevent complications and protects joint health.

𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘀 every day. 💔

That is the number of 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 in our country, a disease we have the tools to treat. Globally, TB killed 1.23 million people in 2024, proving that we are still far from our "End TB" targets.

We need more than just medicine; we need to 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗺𝗮, 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗮𝗽𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀. 🇵🇭

Every breath matters. 🫁

𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 (𝗧𝗕) remains one of the world’s deadliest infectious diseases, caused by 𝘔𝘺𝘤𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘶𝘮 𝘵𝘶𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘴. While it mainly affects the lungs, it can also spread to other parts of the body such as the brain, spine, kidneys, and lymph nodes. TB spreads through the air when a person with active TB coughs, sneezes, or even speaks. Making awareness, early detection, and proper treatment critical in stopping its spread.

Many people may carry latent TB infection without symptoms, while active TB disease can cause persistent cough, fever, night sweats, fatigue, and weight loss. The good news? TB is preventable and treatable with proper antibiotics, early diagnosis, and complete treatment.

This 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟰, 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗧𝗕 𝗗𝗮𝘆, we remember the discovery of the TB bacterium by Dr. Robert Koch in 1882 and renew the global commitment to end TB through education, prevention, and access to treatment for all.

𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 saves lives. 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 saves lives. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 saves lives.

Let’s work together to stop TB. 💚

These infections are among the most common in developing countries and are widely found in tropical and subtropical regions where warm climates, poverty, poor sanitation, and unsafe water allow worms to survive and spread.

Children are the most affected. 👧🧒
Over 267 million preschool children and 568 million school-age children live in areas where these parasites are still transmitted, putting them at risk for poor nutrition, delayed growth, and learning difficulties.

In the Philippines, soil-transmitted helminth infections remain a major public health concern. 🇵🇭
Despite nationwide deworming programs that started in 2006, 16 out of 17 regions remain endemic, and nearly 1 in 2 children were infected in past national surveys.

The burden is not the same everywhere.
📍 Higher Ascaris and Trichuris infections are seen in the Visayas, while hookworm infections are more common in Mindanao. Spatial mapping helps guide targeted interventions in high-risk communities.

Here’s an important reminder: these infections are common, preventable, and treatable. ✨
Regular deworming, good hygiene, safe water, and proper sanitation can help protect children and reduce the global burden of disease.

This infographic highlights the worldwide and Philippine situation of soil-transmitted helminth infections and why continued public health efforts are essential. 💚🤍
