De La Salle Bahay Pag-Asa Joins Apostolate Day of San Agustin Major Seminary

Last May 2, 2026, De La Salle Bahay Pag-Asa Dasmariñas (DLSBPD) participated in the Apostolate Day of the San Agustin Major Seminary in support of Bro. Niño, who faithfully served his ministry at DLSBPD for one year.

The event was a meaningful gathering that highlighted the importance of pastoral formation, service, and community engagement. For the residents and staff of Bahay Pag-Asa, it was a special opportunity to reconnect with Bro. Niño and celebrate the impact of his presence during his time in the facility. Through his ministry, he provided spiritual guidance, encouragement, and companionship to the children, helping them grow in faith and values.

During the Apostolate Day, participants were able to witness the seminarians’ commitment to their vocation and their dedication to serving communities, especially those in need of guidance and formation. A Meaningful Visit: Gen. Nicolas D. Torre III Inspires Bahay Pag-Asa Residents

Last April 25, 2026, De La Salle Bahay Pag-Asa had the honor of welcoming Nicolas D. Torre III, former Chief of the Philippine National Police and now the General Manager of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). The visit took place after his participation in LARGA Lasalyano: Tour De La Salle, a bike ride activity in support of the DLSU-D Scholarship Program and the La Salle Botanical Gardens.

He was accompanied by Dr. Maria Nornelyn L. Cachuela, Vice President for Global Engagements and External Relations; Dr. Irene S. Greco, Director for Linkages and Scholarship; Jose Ritche C. Bongcaron, Chief Lasallian Mission; and Cherry N. Pareja, Director of DLSBPD.

The visit was both meaningful and inspiring, as Gen. Torre took time to personally meet and engage with the residents of De La Salle Bahay Pag-Asa. His presence brought encouragement and motivation to the children, many of whom are on their journey toward rehabilitation and personal growth.

During his message, Gen. Torre emphasized the importance of education, discipline, and responsibility. He encouraged the residents to study hard, make good choices, and strive to become productive and responsible members of their communities. DLS-CSB INDXTHI Sigla Class of 2026 Celebrates Culmination and Turnover Ceremony at De La Salle Bahay Pag-asa Dasmarinas.

Last April 22, the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde INDXTHI Sigla Class of 2026 held its culmination and turnover ceremony at the Pavillon of DLSBPD, marking the successful completion of their Service-Learning Project.

The event highlighted the students’ meaningful contribution through the design and renovation of two (2) rooms within the facility. These newly improved spaces aim to provide more comfortable, safe, and nurturing environment for the residents, supporting their holistic development and rehabilitation.

The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Ms. Nicky Templo Perez, Vice President for Lasallian Mission and Student Life, along with faculty members, students and parents who gathered to celebrate the project’s impact and the collaborative spirit behind it.

Through this initiative, the students demonstrated not only their creativity and technical skills in interior design but also their strong commitment to social responsibility and service. The project standa as a testament to how design can be a powerful tool for transformation- creating spaces that inspire HOPE, dignity, and positive change.

DLSBPD expressed its deepest appreciation to the students, mentors, the Benilde Interior Design Program, and the Service Learning Unit for their dedication and partnership. Their efforts have left a lasting impact on the lives of the residents and the community.

Cooking Sessions with Br. Egbertus: Learning through Experience

Last April 20, 21 and 23, 2026, the residents of De La Salle Bahay Pag-asa Dasmarinas (DLSBPD) participated in a cooking session with our dear Br. Egbertus, as part of Project HOPE which is their ongoing formation program.

Cooking sessions are conducted per dorm and are carefully evaluated by the personnel to ensure learning and skill development. The residents prepared Kuih Lenggang, a traditional delicacy that challenge their patience and technique.

The residents were assessed based on several criteria, including the consistency, softness, flexibility and moistness of the cake, as well as the neatness and precision in rolling and tucking.

Beyond technical skills gained, the session was filled with enthusiasm and joy, as the boys expressed their excitement in learning a new recipe. Activities like this not only enhance their practical skills but also promote teamwork, creativity and confidence.

Gender and Development (GAD) Seminar for Residents and Staff

Last April 8, 2026, De La Salle Bahay Pag-asa Dasmarinas (DLSBPD) conducted a GAD Seminar for its residents and staff as part of its continuing commitment to holistic formation and safe community building.

The seminar was facilitated by Ms. Josephine L. Cruz, GAD focal person of De La Salle University-Dasmarinas. She provided valuable insights on gender sensitivity, respect, inclusivity and the prevention of gender-based discrimination and violence. Her discussion emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of dignity, understanding, and responsible behavior within and outside the community as well.

Participants actively engaged in the session, gaining a deeper appreciation of gender awareness and its role in promoting healthy relationships and a supportive environment. The activity further strengthened the Center’s effort to instill values of respect, empathy, and accountability among residents and personnel.

This initiative reflects DLSBPD’s ongoing dedication to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment that supports the growth and transformation of all individuals within the facility.
