🎆 Love fireworks?

Here’s what you need to know this New Year’s Eve!

Fireworks release toxic chemicals like barium, strontium, and cadmium—spiking air pollution by up to 800%. PM2.5 particles linger for 24+ hours, triggering asthma, heart issues, and stress in pets and wildlife.

Want to celebrate without the harm?

✨ Try drone light shows, laser displays, or eco-friendly “green crackers” (30-50% less pollution)

✨ Use low-noise fireworks to protect pets and wildlife

✨ Skip sparklers near kids—they emit concentrated metallic fumes

If you must use traditional fireworks:
∙ Choose barium-free, low-smoke options
∙ Clean up debris immediately
∙ Keep them away from water sources

Let’s ring in 2025 responsibly. 🌍💚

As Metro Manila continues to face rising temperatures, stronger storms, and worsening flooding, the call for climate action has never been more urgent. This National Climate Change Consciousness Week, DENR National Capital Region urges every Filipino to take part in protecting our environment and strengthening our region’s resilience.

From rehabilitating our waterways and expanding urban green spaces to improving waste management and promoting sustainable practices, we all play a role in shaping a safer, healthier, and climate-resilient Metro Manila.

Let’s work together to protect the environment we depend on, not just this week, but every day.

Everything should be recycled, even the tiniest thing! 📱♻️

International E-Waste Day 2025 is today! The recycling rate for electronic waste is very low, with only 22% of the 62 million tons of e-waste produced in 2022 getting recycled. Ensure that you dispose of your electronics properly and contribute to a sustainable future, while also preventing the waste of billions of dollars' worth of recoverable resources.
