Daram Police Apprehend Suspect in Stabbing Incident

DARAM, SAMAR - The Daram Municipal Police Station led by PLTCOL NORMAN D ALA, Officer-in-Charge, apprehended a suspect involved in a stabbing incident at Purok 4, Brgy. Sua, Daram, Samar, on Monday evening, September 16, 2024.

The responding police immediately conducted a hot pursuit operation, leading to the successful arrest of the suspect. Also recovered from the suspect was the weapon used in committing the crime.

Accordingly, the suspect identified as alias “Seb” and victim alias “Jun” had a heated argument following their drinking spree at the suspect’s residence. The victim reportedly left the house, armed himself with a long-bladed weapon locally known as “sundang.” Upon sensing danger, suspect armed himself with an ice pick and confronted the victim who sustained multiple stab wounds in the different parts of his body.

Following the protocol of the arrest, suspect was brought to Daram MPS for documentation and a homicide case is currently being prepared for filing.

DARAM MPS PERSONNEL APPREHENDS 1 INDIVIDUAL
DURING ANTI-ILLEGAL FISHING OPERATION

Daram, Samar – Elements of Daram Municipal Police Station led by PLTCOL NORMAN D ALA, Chief of Police, conducted seaborne operation against illegal fishing activities at Brgy. Betaug, Daram, Samar resulted to the arrest of one (1) individual on September 6, 2024.

Based on available records, one unmarked fishing boat skippered by the violator while caught in the act engaged in illegal fishing activity with the use of an unlicensed municipal fishing gear locally known as “Palupad” which is a gross violation of Section 64, paragraph “B” (Unauthorized Fishing or Engaging in other Unauthorized Fishery Activity) of Municipal Ordinance No. 19 Series of 2017, otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Municipal Fishery Code of Daram Samar”. Confiscated from the possession and control of the violator are: a. one (1) unit fishing boat weighing 190 kls with an estimated value of Php 35,000.00; b.one (1) Mantra Gasoline Engine 22HP with estimated value of Php 17,000.00; c. one (1) set of fine mesh net with an estimated value of Php 15,000.00; and d. assorted fish catch with an estimated market value of Php 120.00. Further, said violator was released after paying the corresponding fine in the amount of Two Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (Php2,500) under O.R. Numbers 9029400 respectively dated September 6, 2024.

Held during the first week of September, The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) leads the Annual National Crime Prevention Week (NCPW) and is in line with the 2024 National Crime Prevention Program (NCPP). This event aims to raise awareness about crime prevention and promote safety measures at the local, national, and global levels. It focuses on engaging the youth and other disadvantaged sectors. This initiative aims to foster safer communities, protect the rights of Filipinos, and reduce criminal activities in the country. SEARCH WARRANT OPERATION IN DARAM, SAMAR RESULTS IN ARREST AND SEIZURE OF FIREARM

DARAM, SAMAR – Daram Municipal Police Station led by PLTCOL NORMAN D ALA, Officer-in-Charge, apprehended one (1) individual relative to the implementation of search warrant for Violation of Sec. 28 of R.A. 10591 (Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act), in Brgy. Poblacion 2, Daram, Samar, on Sunday morning, September 1, 2024.

The operating unit conducted a police operation with the authority of a search warrant against an individual known as alias "Magmag” (30), a fisherman residing in the aforesaid area, in the presence of invited witnesses as mandated by law. Pieces of evidence seized during the implementation of said search warrant include one (1) .38 revolver, five (5) .38 ammunitions and four (4) 9mm ammunitions. Suspect along with confiscated firearm was brought to the station for documentation and safekeeping.
