As part of the initial implementation of the Bata, Bida Ka! Project in Donsol, Sorsogon, BCCD - Bicol Center for Community Development, Inc. with funding support from Educo Philippines, conducted a Project Orientation on October 1, 2026.

The orientation brought together stakeholders from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Donsol to establish a shared understanding of the project and strengthen coordination for its implementation at the local level.

As Municipal Mayor Ralph Walter Lubiano quoted Helen Keller, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much,” this orientation reflects the importance of collaboration in creating meaningful opportunities for children to participate and have their voices heard.

BCCD sincerely thanks Mayor Lubiano and the Donsol LGU for their presence, support, and commitment to working together toward meaningful child participation in the community.

📢 A strong child protection system begins when children understand that they have a role in it.

In Caramoran, Catanduanes, BCCD - Bicol Center for Community Development, Inc. facilitated a series of Barangay Children’s Organization (BCO) Orientations on September 19, 20, and 26, 2026, as part of Project RESPOND.

The sessions emphasized that BCOs can help create opportunities for children to participate, raise concerns, promote awareness of their rights, support their peers, and contribute to child protection efforts within their communities.

With the support of Educo Philippines, Project RESPOND continues to encourage children to become informed, active, and engaged partners in creating safer communities for all.

On September 28, 2026, BCCD - Bicol Center for Community Development, Inc., with support from Educo Philippines, conducted the Bata Bida Ka! Project Orientation at the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Caramoran Municipal Office.

The orientation brought together the Municipal Mayor, representatives from various LGU offices and departments, and representatives from all 17 barangays of Caramoran, Catanduanes as partners in implementing this new project.

The session provided an opportunity to introduce the project, clarify its objectives and activities, and gather valuable comments, suggestions, commitments, and responsibilities from our local partners.

More importantly, it strengthened our shared commitment to creating spaces where children can speak, be heard, participate, and contribute to decisions that affect their lives. Together, let us build stronger partnerships and communities where every child is heard, valued, protected, and has meaningfully child participation.

On September 17, 2026, BCCD - Bicol Center for Community Development, Inc. conducted the Project Bata, Bida Ka Orientation in Manito, Albay. The activity was attended by representatives from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Manito and the participating barangays, who gathered to learn more about the project and its intended goals.

The discussion introduced the project’s objectives, activities, and implementation approach while highlighting the importance of meaningful participation and support for children at the community level. It also provided participants with an opportunity to exchange ideas and gain a better understanding of their roles as partners in the project.

Project Bata, Bida Ka is funded by Educo Philippines and implemented by BCCD, with the aim of strengthening local participation and creating communities where children are valued, heard, and supported.

As part of Project RESPOND, BCCD - Bicol Center for Community Development, Inc. conducted a Barangay Children’s Organization (BCO) Orientation in Donsol, Sorsogon on September 12, 2026.

Through interactive games, group activities, and discussions, the participants were introduced to the initiative and learned about children’s rights, the purpose and functions of the BCO, and the roles and responsibilities of its officers and members.

The orientation emphasized the importance of safeguarding children’s rights by highlighting how a strong and active BCO can serve as a safe space where children are empowered to speak up, share their ideas, and be heard without fear.

Funded by Educo Philippines, Project RESPOND continues to create opportunities for children to strengthen their voices, participate meaningfully, and become active partners in building safer, more supportive, and child‑friendly communities.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗦𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗮: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺🤝

From August 31 to September 4, 2026, BCCD - Bicol Center for Community Development, Inc. attended the 2026 Self-Help Approach National Partners Forum held at Forest Crest, Nasugbu, Batangas. The forum highlighted good practices among SHA promoters, and BCCD had the privilege of joining field visits to SHARE Inc.'s partner areas to witness the inspiring practices of their Self-Help Groups (SHEGs) firsthand.

🏆 We are also honored to share that BCCD received awards for the timely submission of our GARP and Financial Reports. Additionally, the organization was recognized for presenting its Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) experiences on Caring Carers (Wellness) on Day 4.

Anchored on the tagline "𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘚𝘢 𝘉𝘢𝘵𝘢," it was a week filled with meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and strengthened partnerships. Thank you to all our partners for a fruitfully collaborative week dedicated to serving children and communities! 🙌🏼

From August 20-22, 2026, BCCD - Bicol Center for Community Development, Inc., with funding support from Educo Philippines, successfully conducted barangay-level orientations under Project RESPOND in Donsol, Sorsogon.

The orientations provided spaces for barangay councils and community members to deepen their understanding of children’s rights and recognize the importance of building responsive and protective communities for every child.

With Project RESPOND, barangay councils are empowered to take an active part in safeguarding children and supporting local efforts that uphold children’s rights and well-being. 🙌

In August 2026, BCCD - Bicol Center for Community Development, Inc., together with Educo Philippines as the funding organization, brought Project RESPOND to the barangay level through a series of community orientations in Manito, Albay.

The orientations engaged Barangay Councils and key community leaders to strengthen their understanding of child rights and the shared responsibility of keeping children safe.

Through these sessions, communities were encouraged to work together, strengthen local child protection mechanisms, and take meaningful action to ensure that every child is heard, respected, and protected from violence and abuse.

As part of Project RESPOND, BCCD conducted a series of barangay-level project orientations from July to August 2026, in Caramoran, Catanduanes, bringing child protection discussions closer to local communities.

Across these barangays, the orientations opened opportunities to share knowledge and encourage collective action for child protection, while reflecting on the important role of communities in preventing and responding to violence and abuse.

🤝 With Educo as the funding organization, BCCD continues to work alongside communities in strengthening local child protection efforts and ensuring that children are respected and prioritized.
