LRPO: Educate! Engage! Enable!

These three powerful insights from our newly assigned Regional Director of DepEd Caraga, Dr. Allan Farnazo, now serve as the driving force behind Learner Rights and Protection (LRP) endeavors. With passion and commitment, LRP Focal- Ms. Dadap began championing LRP initiatives among Grade 7 learners in one of Siargao’s largest secondary schools — ensuring that protection, respect, and empowerment take root at the very start of their high school journey.

DepEd Siargao stands united in the fight to end child labor! ✊📚

In strong partnership with DOLE, the Schools Division of Siargao actively participated in the celebration of the World Day Against Child Labor in the Philippines with the theme:
“Ikaw, Ako, Tayo—Sama-samang Pagkilos para sa Batang Malaya.”

SDO Siargao proudly showcased its commitment to protecting every learner through its core services: free and inclusive education, school-based feeding program, Alternative Learning System (ALS), strengthened partnerships and networking, and Learner Rights and Protection (LRP).

An LRP Booth was set up to promote child protection awareness, alongside an ALS IEC materials table to support out-of-school youth and lifelong learners.

Ms. Glenda R. Dadap, Div. LRP Focal advocated learner rights and protection to participant-learners and parents, strengthening awareness and empowering the community to safeguard every child.

Together, we move as one—ensuring every child is free, protected, and given the opportunity to learn and thrive. 💙

ZERO bullying incidents ≠ better performing school! 👁️‍🗨️👍

Sa Revised Anti-Bullying IRR, mas matututukan natin ang bullying incidents sa mga eskwelahan! Sa mga bagong patakaran, mas masisiguro na documented ang mga bullying complaints, at may sanctions na rin para sa personnel na hindi aaksyunan ang mga ito!

Cheering for the genuine protector of children, yaaahoooo!

Cheering for the genuine protector of children, yaaahoooo!

“In the future, I hope to see a nation where every LGU is not only an implementer of laws, but a true guardian of children.” - Ms. Ayala Devine Butlig, SFI Peer Educator

This vision from the children themselves set the tone for a significant milestone on April 27, 2026, when the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC), DILG Philippines Department of the Interior and Local Government, and Stairway Foundation, Inc., launched the first Local Child Safeguarding and Protection Policy (LCSPP) Document Guide and e-Learning Course.

This important initiative will provide Local Government Units (LGUs) across the Philippines with a comprehensive guide to help them protect and care for every Filipino child. Alongside this, the LCSPP e-Learning Course aims to help LGUs better understand and apply child safeguarding principles by offering clear ideas and practical steps for creating safe, responsible communities for children.

When national government agencies, local government units, civil society, communities, and children work together, we get closer to a future where every child is safe, respected, and empowered. Protecting children is not just our duty; it shows who we are as a nation.
