LOOK: Considering the large number of students who participated in the 2026 Sinulog Festival, Gov. Pamela Baricuatro has ordered the suspension of classes tomorrow for all levels in public schools under provincial jurisdiction.

This will allow students time to rest and travel home safely.

Additionally, Capitol employees who are working during the festival this weekend are granted a compensatory day off tomorrow.

As we all know, the Girl Scouts organization, an empowering idea called "Girl Scout Own" allows the girls to take control of their own experiences. As a member of my Girl Scout patrol, being part of the Girl Scout experience has been truly rewarding. Our patrol work closely together, learning important values, such as; teamwork, leadership, and community service. We participated in various activities like camping, badge-earning projects, and community outreach, which help us develop new skills and confidence.

One memorable experience was when our patrol participated in every activity. We worked together on the day to make our community cleaner and greener. This not only strengthened our bond but also taught us responsibility and the impact of collective effort.

Being a member in my patrol means having a supportive group of friends who encourage each other to grow, try new things, and always uphold the Girl Scout Promise and Law. It’s a special journey of friendship, learning, and making a positive difference in the world around us.

In the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP), friendship is the seed that blooms into a deep bond – the tie that turns every challenge into an adventure. Scouts stand by each other, grow together, and forge connections that last a lifetime.

My time at Camp Marina was truly unforgettable. It was my first time joining the Patrol Leaders Camp Permit Course Training (PLCPC), and I arrived feeling so nervous, not knowing what to expect. But that nervousness faded the moment I met the other girls – the biggest highlight that holds a special place in my heart. They were so girly yet so quick on their feet – truly Girl Scouts without a doubt – and so friendly. What started as simple friendship soon deepened into something more: a deep bond. As we learned together, stayed disciplined, trained like soldiers, and found our voices as leaders, I saw exactly what the GSP stands for – how standing by one another turns ordinary moments into adventures, and how friendship truly grows into a connection that lasts forever.

Leaving Camp Marina, I didn’t just take home a training certificate – I took home a family. That first PLCPC trip taught me that the GSP is more than just a scouting organization; it’s a place where friendship takes root and blossoms into an unbreakable deep bond. Every challenge we faced, every lesson we learned, and every laugh we shared turned that adventure into a memory I’ll carry forever. Truly, this is where friendship grows into a deep bond – and I’m so grateful to be part of it.

Camp Marina 2025 was a meaningful and exciting experience that brought learning to life through adventure. The camp featured different activity stations, each designed to teach important lessons about the Girl Scout Promise and Law (GSP). As we moved from one station to another, we faced fun challenges that strengthened our teamwork, leadership, confidence, and discipline.

Every activity encouraged us to help one another, think creatively, and step out of our comfort zones. Through these shared experiences, we built stronger friendships and learned the true value of cooperation and responsibility. Camp Marina 2025 was not just about finishing tasks. It was about growing as individuals and embodying out the core principles of the GSP. It was a memorable journey that inspired us to lead with courage and serve with kindness wherever we go.

The Girl Scout Christmas party at Camp Marina was a fun and meaningful experience that we will always remember. The different games prepared for us were exciting and helped everyone participate, laugh, and work together. Through these games, we were able to build teamwork and strengthen our bond as Girl Scouts. The exchange gifts and other Christmas activities added more joy to the celebration and made everyone feel the spirit of giving and sharing.

Spending time with my fellow Girl Scouts in a happy and positive environment made the event more special. We felt thankful for the organizers who made the party successful and enjoyable. This Christmas party reminded me that the true meaning of the season is not only about gifts but also about friendship, unity, and spreading happiness to others.

In the end, we will always look back to that Christmas celebration in the camp with hearts full of happiness and gratitude 🥹🙏💕
