Birthday na ni Sensei~ Hey! Birthday na ni Sensei! πŸ—£οΈπŸ™Œ

For Nikkori Stecian's first Culture Time, we brought Noriaki-sensei through one of the most joyful Filipino birthday celebration!
From lively parlor games like Trip to Jerusalem, Hep Hep Hooray, and the Longest Happy Birthday Greeting, laughter and friendly competition filled the room.

Of course, no Filipino birthday is complete without a handaan! 🍽️ We shared beloved Filipino delicacies including bam-i, palitaw, and budbod, giving our guest a taste of the flavors we grew up with. Through games, food, and laughter, we celebrated not only a birthday, but also the friendship between Filipino and Japanese culture. πŸ‡΅πŸ‡πŸ€πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

✨The Doodle Booth has officially wrapped up its run during the intramurals! 🎨✨

Throughout the event, we offered custom hand-drawn sketches where visitors handed in photos and received personalized artworks on the spot. We also sold exclusive intramural-themed pins featuring the seven Hashira teams β€” Mist, Love, Flame, Insect, Serpent, Stone, and Sound Hashira β€” each representing one of our intramural teams.

🌸We are so grateful to everyone who visited, had their portraits drawn, and took home pins to show their team spirit. Of course, let’s not forget to thank our wonderful artists, Erika, Pia, Ann, and Shawn for bringing this to life! Your support made the booth a fun, creative, and memorable spot for all. Thank you to our volunteers for their hard work, and to every single person who stopped by to make this booth a success! 🌸

Not every β€œI’m okay” sounds the same. Daijoubu desu is a versatile Japanese phrase that can mean β€œI’m okay,” β€œIt’s alright,” or β€œNo problem,” depending on the situation.

A small phrase that can bring comfort, reassurance, and kindness. πŸ’—πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

Learning Nihongo, one expression at a time! 🌸🎌

On August 14, the Nikkori Stecians held the 4th session of Kotoba no Tabi, focusing on Japanese greetings and basic expressions. The session was facilitated by President, Krishia Sopsop and Vice President, Gabriel Escoton.

Participants were introduced to commonly used Japanese greetings and expressions for everyday conversations. To put their learning into practice, pairs of students were invited to the front to demonstrate short conversations based on the lesson.

To wrap up the session, students participated in an interactive activity where they approached a facilitator, introduced themselves, and practiced a conversation using the expressions they had learned.

Through each session, our Nikkori Stecians continue to build their confidence and take another step in their journey through the Japanese language and culture. πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

✨ γ‚γ‚ŠγŒγ¨γ†! ✨

A small word can make a big difference. γ‚γ‚ŠγŒγ¨γ† (Arigatou) is a simple and friendly way to express gratitude and appreciation to someone. πŸ’—

Whether someone helped you, gave you something, or simply made your day better, don’t forget to say γ‚γ‚ŠγŒγ¨γ†οΌ πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅βœ¨

Let’s spread kindness, one Japanese phrase at a time!
