Only 6 days remain before we once again trade our vacation alarms for duty schedules, lecture halls, return demonstrations, and endless readings. As student nurses, we are preparing to go back to school and to continue a journey dedicated to learning, compassion, competence, and service.
To all student nurses, enjoy these remaining days of rest, recharge your minds, and prepare your hearts.

The road ahead may be demanding, but growth continues in spite of the challenges we all have to face, for it is with the accumulative knowledge that keeps us growing.

From the grave efforts of the Ilustrados, Katipuneros, and the Common Filipinos, the struggle for liberty reached a defining moment on June 12, 1898, when General Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed Philippine independence in Kawit, Cavite. The unfurling of the Philippine flag and the playing of the national anthem marked the birth of a nation determined to govern itself.

Today, we proudly commemorate the 128th 𝗣𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗣𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗬, honoring the brave Filipinos who stood united in pursuit of freedom and self-determination.

As heirs to the freedom won through sacrifice and perseverance, may we remain committed to advancing a nation that embodies 𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐍, 𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐍, at 𝐓𝐀𝐏𝐀𝐓 𝐍𝐀 𝐏𝐀𝐆𝐋𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐊𝐎𝐃 to the Filipino people.

"𝗛𝘂𝘆, 𝗮𝘀𝗮 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱?"

It’s 𝙀𝙉𝙍𝙊𝙇𝙇𝙈𝙀𝙉𝙏 𝙎𝙀𝘼𝙎𝙊𝙉; the time of the year when students suddenly become detectives, tigkuwenta, and pilosopo, all at once! 😁

•From “fresh from motivation” type to “last-minute nako paenroll oi” students, everybody suddenly becomes an expert at refreshing the portal like their life depends on it.
•Some are out there acting like “organized and early” but still end up in the same chaos line as everyone else kay nakulangan diay sa requirements. 🏃‍♀️😵‍💫
•Others are mysteriously offline, pretending they don’t see the enrollment announcement while quietly panicking in the background. 🫥
•But either way, there will always be those who are too laid-back (a.k.a., hayang) to think of such commotion.
𝑉𝑎𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑛𝑜𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒. 🧳⛱️
•And of course, there are those who already secured their study load but still keeps saying “unsa gani akong kurso?” just for the drama 🙂‍↔️✨

Lines are terribly long, requirements are missing, and yet everyone still shows up smiling like chaos is part of the curriculum. Welcome to the academic version of survival mode, where patience is a subject and coffee is the real prerequisite. ☕

College of Nursing and Midwifery

The College of Nursing and Midwifery expresses deep concern regarding the recent viral post involving several nursing students at Pier 88.

We would like to clarify that the circulating assumptions and interpretations suggesting inappropriate behavior are entirely unfounded and inaccurate. The students captured in the video were, in fact, in a state of grief, mourning the loss of an immediate family member.

What was taken out of context and misinterpreted by the public was a deeply personal and emotional moment.

We strongly condemn the spread of baseless claims and the sensationalizing of individuals who are already experiencing emotional distress. Such actions not only misrepresent the truth but also cause further harm to those involved.

As a community grounded in compassion, respect, and integrity, we urge everyone to practice responsibility in sharing information online. Let us refrain from making assumptions and instead uphold empathy, especially in situations involving grief and vulnerability.

We ask the public to take down misleading posts, avoid further speculation, and respect the privacy and dignity of the students and their families during this difficult time.
