August 15, 2022 | Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

It recalls the spiritual and physical departure of the mother of Jesus Christ from the earth, when both her soul and her body were taken into the presence of God.

On November 1, 1950, Pope Pius XII defined the Assumption of Mary to be a dogma of faith: “We pronounce, declare and define it to be a divinely revealed dogma that the immaculate Mother of God, the ever Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul to heavenly glory.” The pope proclaimed this dogma only after a broad consultation of bishops, theologians and laity. There were few dissenting voices. What the pope solemnly declared was already a common belief in the Catholic Church.

Since Mary is closely associated with all the mysteries of Jesus’ life, it is not surprising that the Holy Spirit has led the Church to believe in Mary’s share in his glorification. So close was she to Jesus on earth, she must be with him body and soul in heaven.

Agosto 11, 2022 | Piyesta ni Santa Clara de Asis

Si Santa Clara ug si San Francisco nakasinati silang duha nga ang Ginoo misulod sa ilang kinabuhi; pag-usab, pagtawag ug paghatag sa ilang kinabuhi ngadto sa Ginoo. Silang duha naka-atubang sa mga dili maila, nahadlok ug walay seguro sa ilang kaugalingon.

Si Santa Clara nakat-on nga ang pag-gakos sa Krus maka-abli ngadto padulong sa Ginoo, nga mao ang nagsige og tudlo sa kahiladman sa gugma. Kining hugpong sa atong Ginoo mihiusa kanato ug sa ubang mga tawo. Ang atong mga problema ug kasakit mihimo nga usa ngadto sa uban. Kita nga magkauban, nakat-on nga ang kompasyon ug gugma salamin kini sa kang Hesus.

Hinaot nga niining selebrasyon atong gahinan og panahon ug magkahiusa kitang tanan inubanan sa atong dako nga pag-ampo sa Dios pinaagi ni Santa Clara.
