Today marks the 82nd commemoration of Araw ng Kagitingan, a solemn occasion observed both by Filipinos and Americans to honor the heroism and sacrifices of the soldiers.

Over the years, the holiday has undergone various changes in name and legal status, but its significance remains unchanged in honoring everyone who fought for freedom and democracy.

KASAYSAYAN NGAYON | People Power Day

Ngayong ika-25 ng Pebrero ang paggunita ng ika-38 na anibersaryo ng EDSA People Power Revolution.

Naganap ang mga pagkikilos sa Epifanio de los Santos Avenue noong Pebrero 22, 1986 hanggang Pebrero 25, 1986, kung saan nagkapit-bisig ang milyun-milyong mga tao upang patalsikin ang diktadurya ng noo’y-Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Sr., at mapanumbalik ang demokrasya sa ating bansa.

Hindi lamang sa EDSA naganap ang mga pagkikilos, kundi sa iba’t-ibang panig ng Pilipinas. Nakamit ng rebolusyon ang hangarin nito, na payapa at walang anumang karahasan.

Alalahanin natin ang mga kaganapan na humantong sa pagkikilos na ito, at ang saysay at kahalagahan nito sa ating kasaysayan at kinabukasan. 🇵🇭

In the Philippines, Bonifacio Day is observed yearly on November 30. Andrés Bonifacio, a national hero, is honored with a national holiday.

Bonifacio was a founding member of the Katipunan, a secret club of revolutionaries. He is known as the 'Father of the Philippine Revolution,' because he was the one who started the Philippine revolution against the Spanish Empire.
