Higala Teen Center - Daanbantayan

The 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐓𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office serves as both a community hub and a drop-in center for children and youth.

Its mission is to complement and reinforce the roles of schools, and families.

The Constancio P. At a young age, it is especially important for children to learn about their rights, personal boundaries, safe and unsafe situations, and the importance of speaking up. Early awareness helps equip them with the knowledge and confidence they need to protect themselves and others as they grow.

By equipping children with knowledge at a young age, Higala Teen Center continues to promote early awareness as a foundation for building safer schools, stronger communities, and a future free from abuse and exploitation.

The Baptist Christian Church Youth participated in an advocacy session on 𝗥𝗔 𝟭𝟭𝟵𝟯𝟬: 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝘅𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 (𝗢𝗦𝗔𝗘𝗖) and 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝘅𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 (𝗖𝗦𝗔𝗘𝗠) 𝗔𝗰𝘁, 𝗥𝗔 𝟭𝟭𝟯𝟭𝟯: 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝘁 (𝗕𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗼𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝘄), and 𝗥𝗔 𝟵𝟮𝟬𝟴: 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝘁.

Although attended by a small group, the activity served as a valuable opportunity to equip young people with knowledge on promoting respect, recognizing abuse and exploitation, and protecting the rights and dignity of every individual.

Every informed participant has the potential to influence their peers, families, and communities. Through continued advocacy, even small gatherings can create a ripple effect that leads to safer spaces and stronger communities.
