Another proud milestone for the Currimao NHS Stingray Family as our Currimao Stingrays Basketball Team emerged as the First Runner-Up in the Ilocos Hoopers Basketball League 2026, held on August 4, 2026, at Brgy. Parut, Vintar, Ilocos Norte.

From being a newly formed team to finishing among the league's top contenders, the Stingrays displayed exceptional teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Their remarkable performance reflects the countless hours of training, unwavering dedication, and determination they poured into every game.

On July 30, 2026, Currimao National High School conducted a Shooting Incident Response Drill to strengthen campus safety and emergency preparedness.

The activity was conducted in response to recent shooting incidents and served as a proactive initiative to strengthen safety awareness and emergency preparedness among students, teachers, and school personnel. Through the simulation, participants practiced appropriate protective actions and coordinated emergency response procedures, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively should a critical incident occur.

The drill aimed to enhance awareness, improve emergency response capabilities, and foster a culture of preparedness within the school community. It also emphasized the importance of staying calm, avoiding panic, and following established emergency protocols to help ensure everyone's safety during critical incidents.

Currimao National High School actively participated in the 2026 Simultaneous Earthquake Drill held on July 30, 2026, where students, teachers, and school personnel worked together to practice proper earthquake safety and preparedness procedures before, during, and after an earthquake. The activity was conducted in collaboration with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of the Municipality of Currimao and other partner agencies.

Through this initiative, CNHSians were reminded of the importance of remaining calm and prepared during emergencies by practicing the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure and following proper evacuation protocols.๐Ÿšจโ›‘๏ธ

Despite the rainy weather on July 24, 2026, selected Grade 12 learners from STEMโ€“Ceres and TVLโ€“Constellation participated in the Disaster Risk Reduction Exhibit held at the Mega Complex, Local Government Unit (LGU) of Currimao, in observance of National Disaster Resiliency Month 2026.

The activity was attended by our School Principal, Dr. Marvin Q. Abara, together with our DRRM Coordinator, Mr. Altheo Mandar, who supported the learners throughout this meaningful educational experience.

Through interactive demonstrations conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) Currimao, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Currimao, Rural Health Unit (RHU) Currimao, and the Philippine Army, students gained valuable firsthand knowledge of emergency response equipment, rescue operations, disaster preparedness, basic first aid, and other life-saving skills essential during emergencies.

"Panatag ang May Alam" reminds us that preparedness begins with knowledge. Through experiences like these, learners become more informed, proactive, and resilientโ€”ready to respond with confidence when disasters strike.
