This month, the KKDAT II–Currimao Chapter proudly joins in celebrating and supporting our rainbow community. Pride Month is a time to recognize the courage, strength, and stories of our LGBTQIA+ brothers, sisters, and friends. It is a reminder that every person deserves love, respect, acceptance, and equal opportunities in life. No matter who you are, whom you love, or how you express yourself, you matter and your presence makes a difference in our community.

We also stand with those who are still discovering who they are and those who may still be in the closet. There is no deadline for understanding yourself and no pressure to tell your story before you are ready. Everyone has their own journey and their own time. Take the time you need, grow at your own pace, and always remember that your feelings and experiences are valid. You do not have to rush, and you do not have to face your journey alone.

As we celebrate Pride Month, let us continue to build a community where everyone feels safe, valued, and accepted. Let us choose kindness over judgment, understanding over discrimination, and respect over hate. As the song goes, "Di ka sayang, di kailangang manghinayang. Di ka sayang, di kailangang patunayan. Sarili ay mahalaga kahit pa anong tingin nila." To everyone who may still be finding their place in the world, always remember this simple message: Tanggap kita. Tanggap ka namin. In 2025, 4.9% of Filipino girls aged 15–19 have experienced pregnancy, reminding us that adolescent pregnancy remains a significant concern in the Philippines (Philippine Statistics Authority [PSA], 2025).
Behind every statistic is a young Filipino with dreams, goals, and limitless potential. Every adolescent deserves the opportunity to
pursue education, develop talents and skills, build meaningful relationships, and make informed decisions about their future. Before taking on the responsibilities of parenthood, young people should be empowered to grow, learn, and achieve their aspirations.

Ask yourself:
How will this decision affect my future? Am I emotionally, physically, and financially ready for parenthood? What are my goals and dreams?

By promoting responsible decision-making, comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education, open communication, and access to youth-friendly support services, we can help adolescents protect their future and reach their full potential.
Because dreams should grow before families.

The training was facilitated by the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center (MMMHMC). This activity forms part of the core programs of the Key Assistance for Developing Adolescents Network, aimed at equipping youth leaders with knowledge and skills on adolescent development, self-awareness, healthy relationships, and responsible decision-making.

Throughout the four-day training, participants engaged in various learning sessions and activities. Interactive workshops, self-reflection activities, group discussions, and socialization activities also provided opportunities for participants to learn, share experiences, and strengthen their role as youth advocates in their respective communities.

Through this training, KKDAT members gained valuable insights and experiences that will help them become more effective youth leaders and advocates for adolescent health and development.

Another day of service, another opportunity to make a difference! On the second day of Oplan BEKS (Balik Eskwela Kits and Supplies) under Project PUSO, the KKDAT II Currimao Chapter continued its mission of supporting young learners as they prepare for the opening of classes this School Year 2026–2027.
For the second day of the activity, KKDAT volunteers rendered their time and effort at Wilbur C. Go National High School and Comcomloong-Anggapang Elementary School, working alongside teachers, parents, and other community stakeholders. Through cooperation and volunteerism, the activity helped promote a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment for learners as they prepare to return to school.
Oplan BEKS is more than just a project–it is a reminder that small acts of service can create a positive impact in the lives of students and the community. Through unity and dedication, KKDAT II Currimao Chapter continues to uphold the values of service, compassion, and youth empowerment.

Unlocking another meaningful project this month under Project PUSO of KKDAT II Currimao Chapter! As the month of June signals the start of another school year, KKDAT II Currimao Chapter proudly presents Oplan BEKS (Balik Eskwela Kits and Supplies). This initiative aims to help students prepare for the upcoming classes by providing essential school supplies and learning materials.With the opening of classes drawing near and schools gearing up for Brigada Eskwela 2026, this project seeks to support learners in their educational journey and help ensure that they are ready and equipped for the new academic year. Through Oplan BEKS, KKDAT II Currimao Chapter continues to extend its helping hands to the community, promoting the values of service, compassion, and volunteerism. We believe that even simple acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and contribute to a brighter future for our community.

MAY achievement ang KKDAT II CURRIMAO CHAPTER

As part of the KKDAT II Currimao Chapter's commitment to expanding its ground and strengthening its presence in the community, the officers together with the the personels of the PNP CURRIMAO headed by PCPT Kester Arellano, proudly met with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) Office to discuss future opportunities and partnerships. During the meeting with the head of the MSWD, Mrs. Nelia Dadulla, the KKDAT II Currimao Chapter presented the organization's mission, vision, and goals for the youth of Currimao. They also shared their planned activities, programs, and initiatives aimed at empowering young people and encouraging active community involvement.The discussion ended on a positive note, highlighting the possibility of future collaborations between the KKDAT II Currimao Chapter and the MSWD. The office expressed its support for the organization and assured its willingness to extend assistance and guidance in programs that will benefit the youth and the community.

This achievement marks another step forward for the KKDAT II Currimao Chapter as it continues to build stronger partnerships and create more opportunities for the youth of Currimao.

Look | Here is the first glimpse of the activity of the KKDAT II-Currimao Chapter for the month of May. As the opening of classes for basic education is getting near, the KKDAT II-Currimao Chapter offers free literacy and numeracy tutorials as part of their Project PUSO. This activity aims to help pupils from Grades 1 to 3 refresh and improve their reading, writing, and basic math skills before the start of the school year.

This simple yet meaningful activity also aims to help address the growing problem of low literacy and numeracy rates among young learners in the country. Through small efforts like this, the organization hopes to inspire learning, build confidence among pupils, and support the community in preparing children for a better school experience. Truly, even simple actions can create a positive and lasting impact on the lives of young learners.

The KKDAT II – Currimao Chapter proudly joins everyone in celebrating the Dinaklisan Festival with joy and unity. This celebration reminds us of our roots and the life of our fishermen, showing how teamwork and hard work build a strong community. As we honor Panagdaklis, we continue to value the traditions that shape who we are as people of Currimao.
At the same time, as part of Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo, we stand together as youth who choose a better path for our future. Just like our culture that we protect and treasure, we also protect our community from drugs and violence by staying united and guided. As our song says, “Nalawa a taawa kas kalawa arapaap mi,” our dreams are wide and full of hope. With this, we continue to celebrate, stay strong, and move forward as one community.
