The Department of Education now embarks on the new MATATAG Curriculum through one of its programs, the Catch-up Fridays, which aimed to improve the reading comprehension of Filipino learners. It has high hopes to make every Filipino child a voracious reader, critical thinkers, and social changer that our country lacks, and will be forever in need, and to also suppress aliteracy or when an accomplished reader knows how to read but chooses not to.
However, the unavailability of reading materials at homes and the unsolved problem of most schools with only a few numbers, or worst, the non-existence of local books, affects the relatability factor of the reading materials to readers that can spark reading interest, thatβs why Northern Antique Vocational School (NAVS) answers to this call with its βA+ Reading Camp, Season III, that will focus on Poetry Writeshop and Poetry Reading on three different mediums; Kinaray-a, Filipino, and English, for two consecutive days, from July 23-24, 2024, 7:30 am, at the NAVS Science Laboratory.
To the budding and aspiring poets of Northern Antique Vocational School, as well as to the artists and cartoonists of the campus, this is for you! We are launching this Writeshop to provide a supportive environment for writers and literary lovers. Spend time with our speakers, who will teach the howβs of writing poetry, listen to our well-versed, local Poetry Speakers, and enjoy some fun games this SEASON III. Hurry up and register, for we only have limited slots. Keep in touch with these Brigada Pagbasa Focal Personnels with their FB accounts below for the registration details.
