MindanaOne: Gugma ug Paglaum

MindanaOne: Gugma ug Paglaum As we all know, our brethren in CDO and ILIGAN are still struggling to put their lives back on track. Sendong did not only destroy homes and disrupt lives.

And for this, they have this need to feel the loving and healing presence of the Lord. This year, God’s great call to CFC is to “PROCLAIM THE GREATNESS OF THE LORD”. As the community has been witness to God’s goodness – blessing us with all the things that we need in our daily lives – each one of us is now given a wonderful opportunity to proclaim God's greatness to them. Through ANCOP and Corner

stone, CFC is being called to bring Christ’s love to them through a comprehensive response using our core calling, through Values Formation and Education, and the provision of much needed social interventions. Sendong also knocked down schools. This has sadly interrupted the young's quest for knowledge. The experience also brought fear, pain and emotional scars to the young ones. In a spirit of compassion and love for neighbor, we desire to bring Christ's healing and generous presence to our young brethren. CFC can make a unique mark through Christian Values – values centering on faith, hope and love. Add to this Education enhancement and promotion which includes environment protection. The program will be jointly organized by ANCOP and CORNERSTONE, implemented through our CFC structure, with the main team composed of CFC and the Family Ministries. Our comprehensive response will be anchored on the Kids Values Formation, Parenting and enhancement of education through tutorials, including provision of school needs that will be in many ways a gateway evangelization in action. In this effort, we can bank on our partners like Ateneo, Jollibee Foundation and CFC Canada, as initiated by Evie Amante. The program is envisioned to be “launched” in CDO on February 25, 2012 via a concert. This launch will mark the start of the campaign for classroom repair and rehabilitation, and will run until April or May after the YFC Conference. The program will culminate with a big “Brigada Eskwela” and the distribution of the much-needed school supplies for students.
