Metro Pacific Investments Foundation (MPIF), the social development arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, and the City Government of Alaminos launched Project RESHORE (Resilient Ecosystem and Sustainable Habitats through Organized Restoration and Employment) through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), led by MPIF President Melody del Rosario and Alaminos City Mayor Hon. Arth Bryan Celeste.

This community-led initiative combines livelihood support and environmental restoration to help strengthen vulnerable coastal communities.

The project will engage 30 qualified small-scale fisherfolk and residents from at-risk coastal households in restoring a 2.19-hectare damaged portion of the Bued Mangrove Eco-Park.

San Miguel Foods, San Miguel Foundation, and Adarna Group Foundation, Inc. (AGFI) launched the third phase of the "Happy si Mommy, Malusog si Baby Program" in Bataan, integrating early literacy into its health and nutrition initiatives for mothers and children.

Through a read-aloud workshop, interactive storytelling session, and distribution of books, families were introduced to practical ways to support early language and literacy at home.

The partnership highlights the shared responsibility of families, organizations, and communities in supporting every Filipino child during the first 1,000 days.

In line with the Pasig City government’s efforts to promote participatory good governance and responsive public service, BDO Foundation and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) partnered with the City Government of Pasig to expand access to financial education to relocated families, micro-entrepreneurs, persons recovering from drug use, solo parents, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and many others.

Aligned with BSP’s National Strategy for Financial Inclusion, the financial education program aims to complement the local government’s existing livelihood and social reintegration initiatives.

The Association of Foundations (AF) and TELUS Digital are inviting SEC-registered non-stock, non-profit organizations in CALABARZON and MIMAROPA to join a free, in-person two-day workshop on October 6–7, 2026 at the Mariapolis Center, Ligaya Drive, Brgy. Sungay North, Tagaytay City.

The workshop will help not-for-profit practitioners build a practical understanding of the essential elements needed to craft compelling and fundable project proposals. 💡

Here’s what you need to know:

🎟️ Limited slots: Registration is an expression of interest and does not guarantee participation. Selected participants will be notified by email on September 22. One slot will initially be assigned per organization; organizations may nominate a second participant, subject to availability.

💙 Free to participate: No registration fee. Meals and accommodations, when applicable, are covered by the organizers. Transportation is the participant’s counterpart.

🛏️ Accommodation: One-night twin-sharing accommodation on October 6 is available for participants who need it. The venue is not air-conditioned, but electric fans are provided.

Yesterday, our Executive Director Oman Jiao shared insights from the Philippines Donor Insights of the World Giving Report 2026 during a webinar organized by OneStage.

The conversation brought together perspectives from the Philippines, India, and beyond. Pankaj Gupta, CEO of OneStage, shared the Indian context, including the concept of seva, while Natasha Llewelyn, Senior Researcher at the Charities Aid Foundation, provided a global perspective on giving.

Drawing from the Philippines findings, Oman highlighted bayanihan as an important part of Filipino generosity. When asked what the social sector can do to strengthen trust, he emphasized the importance of NGOs, foundations, and their people upholding the core values of the sector.

How can we strengthen trust and encourage more people to give, volunteer, and engage? 🤝
