JUST IN: The Supreme Court (SC) has dismissed the petition filed by teacher Barry Tayam seeking to declare as valid the quorum of 12 senators during the Senate session on June 3, 2026.

In a press release, the SC Office of the Spokesperson said the petition was dismissed due to Tayamโ€™s lack of legal standing, ruling that he failed to establish a sufficient legal interest to challenge the matter before the Court.

Under the Constitution and Senate Rules, the Senate President must be elected by a majority of all 24 senators โ€” meaning at least 13 votes are required.

Even if one bloc has 12 senators and another has 10, a Senate President cannot be elected or replaced with only 12 votes.

Quorum is one thing. Electing a Senate President is another.

Fake news is circulating, making it appear that things are happening when they are NOT. These false narratives do not help him. They hurt us. They break the hearts of millions of supporters who are counting on truthful information.

And once you share unverified content and get fact-checked? Your page gets flagged. Your platform gets destroyed. That may very well be the whole point, to take down the voices of those who support him.
