In response to the devastation caused by the recent magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Mindanao, the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Cotabato City Chapter has launched a humanitarian campaign to provide immediate assistance to affected communities.

The donation drive accepts both 𝙞𝙣-𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙝 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 to support families in need. Essential items such as food packs, clothing, hygiene supplies, and other basic necessities are highly encouraged.

𝙈𝙎𝙈𝙀𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙩𝙤 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙐𝙥𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝙏𝙖𝙭𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘽𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙇𝙖𝙬

COTABATO CITY — The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) – Cotabato City Chapter, in partnership with the Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism (MTIT), successfully conducted the first two days of the Entrepreneurship Development Training for MSMEs last May 19 and 20, 2026, at the Conference Room of the MTIT–Cotabato City Field Office, 8Z Building, Gov. Gutierrez Avenue, Cotabato City.

The training is part of PICPA’s Financial Accounting, Taxation and Business Advisory Services (FATBAS) program, an initiative aimed at providing accessible financial and business advisory support to MSMEs. Held from 8:30 AM to 12:00 NN, brought together aspiring and existing entrepreneurs from Cotabato City for a morning of knowledge-sharing and skills development aimed at strengthening the capacity of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the region.

Resource persons from various fields of expertise led the sessions. Conrado L. Pioquinto, CPA, of Conrado L. Pioquinto Accounting & Auditing Firm, tackled Entrepreneurial Accounting and Financial Management, equipping participants with foundational knowledge on managing business finances. Atty. Edzradeen D. Askak, Chief Accountant of the LGU of Pagalungan, discussed Taxation, while Atty. Ariff A. Lao of the Commission on Audit covered Business Law. Atty. Jayson V. Sari of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) rounded out the sessions with a discussion on Financial Literacy for MSMEs.

Organizers noted the enthusiasm and active participation of attendees throughout the sessions, reflecting the growing interest of local entrepreneurs in strengthening their business acumen.

The training is set to conclude on May 25, 2026, with participants looking forward to the final session of this three-day learning initiative.
