The College of Islamic Studies proudly participated in Luminara 2026: A Celebration of Unity and Learning held at the CSU Lights Gymnasium.

Our First Year College of Islamic Studies students actively joined the event, building new friendships, engaging in meaningful activities, and embracing the spirit of unity as they officially began their academic journey. Together, we strengthened the values of brotherhood, sisterhood, knowledge, respect, and service that define our college community.

In line with the celebration of 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗬 2026, the 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 – 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 (CIS-LSC) proudly took part in the BARMM Multistakeholders Simultaneous Mangrove Planting – Year 2, standing in solidarity with government agencies, academic institutions, youth organizations, and community volunteers in protecting and restoring our coastal ecosystems.

This initiative reflects our shared responsibility as stewards of the environment. Every mangrove planted contributes to stronger coastlines, healthier marine biodiversity, and more climate-resilient communities.

As future leaders, may we continue to uphold the values of service, environmental responsibility, and collective action for the benefit of present and future generations.

The 𝐂𝐈𝐒 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 respectfully participated in the 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐡 conducted by the 𝐈𝐁𝐒 (𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬). This meaningful activity provided students with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Islamic rites and responsibilities associated with honoring the deceased while reflecting on the values of 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡, 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲.

The session was presented by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐞 𝐅𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐃. 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐚, 𝐒𝐂𝐋, who discussed the 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐦, emphasizing the importance of observing the proper Islamic funeral rites in accordance with the 𝐐𝐮𝐫'𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐡.

This was followed by a practical demonstration conducted by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐝𝐰𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧, who carefully demonstrated the proper procedures of 𝐆𝐡𝐮𝐬𝐥 𝐚𝐥-𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐲𝐢𝐭 (the ritual washing of the deceased) and the essential steps in preparing the deceased for burial based on Islamic teachings.

The 𝐂𝐈𝐒 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 extends its heartfelt appreciation to the 𝐈𝐁𝐒 (𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬) for organizing this beneficial and spiritually enriching activity.

Through this experience, participants gained not only practical knowledge but also a deeper appreciation of their religious obligations and the importance of 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐦 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧.
