Happy Easter Sunday! 🕊️🤍

He is risen! Wishing you all a blessed Easter filled with hope, love, and new beginnings.

Serving at the altar on Easter Sunday offers a unique perspective on the miracle of the Resurrection. Clad in sacred white, altar servers do more than assist with the liturgy; they act as joyful witnesses to the victory of life over death. For these dedicated individuals, every prayer and every task at the altar is a meaningful way to honor the risen Christ and share His light with the community.

BLACK SATURDAY ✝️

Christ is Risen, Alleluia! Alleluia!

The Easter Vigil marks our solemn transition from the stillness of the tomb to the triumph of the Resurrection. We begin in darkness with the Blessing of the Fire, a sacred flame that symbolizes Christ’s light returning to the world. Through the liturgy, we recall God’s promises before gathering at the font for the Sacrament of Baptism, witnessing the birth of new life in the Church. As we participate in the Renewal of Baptismal Promises, we move from the shadows of the past into the grace of the present, recommitting ourselves to a life of faith. This holy night reminds us that through His sacrifice, we are restored, transformed, and invited to share in His eternal light.

GOOD FRIDAY ✝️

The faithful gather in a sanctuary stripped of its usual adornments, entering into the somber rhythm of the Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion. They stand in hushed reverence as the account of Christ’s suffering is proclaimed, allowing the gravity of the sacrifice to settle over the congregation. The atmosphere is one of collective mourning and deep contemplation, as participants reflect on the historical and spiritual weight of the crucifixion. This communal witness serves as a stark reminder of the cost of redemption, drawing every soul into the quiet intensity of the afternoon’s grace.

As the wood of the Cross is presented, a line forms for the Veneration, each person approaching with a unique gesture of humility—a bow, a touch, or a kiss—honoring the instrument of salvation. This act of devotion bridges the gap between ancient sacrifice and modern faith, as the crowd acknowledges the mercy found within the mystery of the Passion. Once the rites are concluded, the assembly departs in a silent procession, moving out into the world without the accompaniment of music or bells. They leave behind an empty tabernacle and a darkened church, carrying the stillness of the tomb with them as they wait for the promise of the Resurrection.

Maundy Thursday ✝️🤍

The sanctuary comes alive on this Maundy Thursday as the priest, representing Christ, leads the faithful in a profound reenactment of the Last Supper, surrounded by the dedicated ministry team and those portraying the apostles. With a spirit of quiet, synchronized reverence, the altar servers, lectors, and ministers facilitate every sacred movement, from the deeply humbling act of the washing of the feet, where the priest mirrors the servant heart of the Master, to the solemn, prayerful procession for the reposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

As the congregation unites in worship and watches the unfolding of these mysteries, the entire assembly is drawn together in a collective, silent vigil, reflecting on the profound gift of the Eucharist and the call to humble service as they enter into a night of watchful adoration of His sacrifice.

VIVA SR. SAN BLAS!

SAINT OF THE DAY | ST. BLAISE

On February 3rd each year, the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of St. Blaise, a bishop and martyr. He's recognized as the patron saint of those with throat problems, wool workers, and is one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. A special blessing of throats often takes place during Mass on this day. We know we ask through this blessing to for bishop and martyr St. Blaise’s intercession, as the priest prays, "Through the intercession of Saint Blaise, bishop and martyr, may God deliver you free from every disease of the throat, and from every other disease. In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen."

St. Blaise, Pray for Us.

Be Part Of Us—whether you are poor or rich, strong or struggling, celebrated or forgotten. In the eyes of Christ, no one is greater and no one is less. His peace does not measure status, wealth, or success; it reaches the humble and the mighty alike, finding its home in every open heart.

This Christmas season, we joyfully announce our Pax Tecum celebration from December 25 to 28, hosted by the Knights and Handmaids of the Altar of San Blas Parish. As we gather in the spirit of the season, we remember that the Child born in Bethlehem chose a manger, not a palace, to remind us that true peace is not found in possessions, but in presence—God with us.

In Him, the poor are honored, the rich are invited to humility, the weary find rest, and the lost are welcomed home. We call on all to embrace love beyond borders, labels, and divisions—extending hands of fellowship to neighbors, strangers, and every member of our community. During these special days, our parish will hold prayer gatherings, acts of service for the less fortunate, and moments of reflection to strengthen our bond as God’s children.

May the peace of Christ dwell in you, guide your steps through the year ahead, and unite us as one family—equal in dignity, rich in faith, and bound together by His endless mercy. Let us carry this peace in our hearts and share it with all we meet.

**"✨ THE FINAL FLAME OF DEVOTION BURNS BRIGHT! ✨ Today marks the 9th and final day of Simbang Gabi with the San Blas Parish Knights and Handmaids of the Altar – a faithful journey of dawn prayers that have warmed our hearts and strengthened our faith through these sacred nine days. As we gather one last time under the parish roof, let us hold close this powerful promise from Scripture:

'The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?'
Psalm 27:1

To our dedicated Knights and Handmaids of the Altar – thank you for your unwavering service and for being beacons of light throughout this cherished tradition. May the blessings of Simbang Gabi fill your homes and hearts with endless joy this Christmas season! 🕯️🙏 "**
