The E-Trike Pangkabuhayan project in Cotabato City aims to address transportation challenges, promote sustainable livelihoods, and contribute to a greener and more environmentally friendly urban transport system. This project involves the implementation of electric tricycles (E-Trikes) as an alternative to traditional cycle rickshaw (Sikad) and the illegal operation of the "Payong payong) in the city. By replacing human-powdered vehicles with the electric-powered ones, the project aims to reduce air pollution, alleviate traffic congestion, and improve the economic well-being of tricycle operators.

The E-Trike Pangkabuhayan project team visited the Cotabato City CTTMC to request permission to survey their traffic enforcers. The goal was to assess the acceptability of e-trikes among this key stakeholder group, informing the feasibility of introducing e-trikes.

Fortunately, the CTTMC welcomed the request and agreed to distribute the survey, encouraging their staff to participate seriously as they were enthusiastic about the project's potential benefits for the city.

This collaborative approach with the CTTMC reflects a proactive effort to gather critical insights and support from a vital transportation authority. The CTTMC's willingness to facilitate the survey demonstrates a shared interest in exploring sustainable mobility solutions for Cotabato City.

The feedback from the enforcers will help shape the next steps in the E-Trike Pangkabuhayan project to ensure alignment with the needs and concerns of the city's transportation stakeholders.

The E-Trike Pangkabuhayan project was introduced through a thesis presentation at St. Benedict College of Maguindanao as part of a Master of Public Administration program. This presentation served as a crucial first step in assessing the acceptability and viability of introducing electric tricycles (e-trikes) to the constituents of Cotabato City.

The project aims to promote sustainable transportation and support local entrepreneurship by transitioning from traditional gasoline-powered tricycles to cleaner, more efficient e-trikes. The thesis presentation allowed the project team to gather feedback and insights from the community, which will inform the next steps in designing and implementing the e-trike system to meet the transportation needs and preferences of Cotabato City residents.
