The successful implementation of ๐‘๐ž๐’๐‡๐„๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐ญ brought together young people, advocates, and community members in a shared commitment to advancing awareness on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), gender equality, and womenโ€™s empowerment.

Throughout the activity, participants engaged in meaningful discussions on family planning, responsible parenthood, reproductive health, and the legal protections available to women in the Philippines. The sessions provided not only knowledge but also a platform for open dialogue, allowing participants to challenge misconceptions, ask important questions, and gain a deeper understanding of issues that affect their lives and communities.

More than a learning event, ReSHElient served as a space where voices were heard, experiences were valued, and collective action was encouraged. It reaffirmed the importance of equipping young people with accurate information and empowering them to become advocates for health, rights, and positive change.

As the conversations continue beyond the activity, ReSHElient remains committed to fostering resilient communities where every woman and young person can make informed decisions, exercise their rights, and thrive with dignity.

Because resilience begins with knowledge, empowerment, and action.

ReSHElient is a youth-led initiative of the Maguindanao Alliance of Youth Advocates (MAYA) that advocates Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), empowers young mothers and youth, and strengthens community awareness through inclusive and culturally sensitive education.

Implemented in partnership with the Province of Maguindanao Del Sur through the Provincial Youth Development Office - MDS , together with local stakeholders, youth leaders, health workers, and community advocates working toward informed, resilient, and empowered communities.

Meet the Voices Behind ReSHElient

Behind every meaningful conversation is a voice brave enough to spark change. This ReSHElient, we bring together passionate advocates, health professionals, and youth leaders who continue to break silence, empower communities, and champion rights-based conversations for women and young people.

Ysnaira B. Sangowan
A nurse, Moro youth leader, and long-time advocate against child marriage, Ysnaira continues to champion adolescent health and girlsโ€™ protection both locally and internationally. As she recently represented MAYA and UNICEF Philippines at Women Deliver 2026, she now joins ReSHElient to lead conversations on Understanding Family Planningโ€”unpacking its importance, contraceptive methods, and myths versus facts to encourage informed and empowered choices.

Bairaniah A. Gogo
A Registered Nurse serving at Jhalilnor Hospital and an active youth advocate, Bairaniah promotes gender equality, SRHR, and inclusive healthcare through community engagement and advocacy. In ReSHElient, she will guide participants through Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health, highlighting maternal health, birth spacing, and menstrual hygiene as vital parts of womenโ€™s health and well-being.

Juanday A. Esmael
A youth and development practitioner and Chairperson of MAYA, Juanday leads initiatives focused on child protection, civic engagement, and community empowerment. Through his session, The Law Is on Our Side: Snapshot of Laws Protecting Women in the Philippines, participants will explore key laws and policies that uphold and protect womenโ€™s rights.

Together, they bring more than expertiseโ€”they bring stories, advocacy, and a shared commitment to building safer, informed, and empowered communities.

This is ReSHElient.
A space for learning.
A movement for empowerment.
And a conversation that continues to rise.

The silence is over.

What was once hinted in shadows and whispers is now stepping fully into the light.

ReSHElient is backโ€”not as a memory of what it was, but as a force of what it has become.

Built from the conversations it sparked, the silence it broke, and the voices it helped amplify, it now returns with deeper purpose and stronger resolve.

This is the unveiling of a continued missionโ€”shaped by experience, strengthened by time, and driven by the same unwavering call for change.

Itโ€™s no longer a question of โ€œwhen it returns.โ€

Itโ€™s here.

And itโ€™s only getting started.

Stay with us. The movement unfolds from here.

Implemented in partnership with the Province of Maguindanao Del Sur through the Provincial Youth Development Office - MDS , together with local stakeholders, youth leaders, health workers, and ommunity advocates working toward informed, resilient, and empowered communities.

From BARMM to the Global Stage!

The Women Deliver 2026 Conference, one of the worldโ€™s largest gatherings for gender equality, brings together over 6,500 advocates, leaders, and changemakers from across the globe to advance the rights of women and girls.

Today, we proudly celebrate Ysnaira Sangowan, representing the Maguindanao Alliance of Youth Advocates (MAYA), as she carries the voices, stories, and aspirations of young people from BARMM to this global platform.

As a nurse, youth leader, and advocate, Ysnaira embodies the power of grassroots leadership, amplifying stories of resilience, championing health and education, and pushing forward the call for gender equality and climate justice.

โ€œFrom our communities to the worldโ€”we rise, we lead, we deliver change.โ€

This moment is not just about representation, it is about recognition of the lived experiences of Bangsamoro youth and their vital role in shaping inclusive, peaceful, and equitable societies.

Our team recently visited Cotabato City as part of early preparations for a collaborative digital peacebuilding initiative with UN Women. Using deliberative methods and digital tools, this project centers women's voices and experiences in strengthening civic participation across BARMM.

We're grateful for the warm welcome from partner organizations and individuals who are joining us in this effort. We admire the work civil society organizations are already doing and have learned so much from these initial conversations. We look forward to building on these efforts together.

On May 28, the Maguindanao Alliance of Youth Advocates (MAYA) joined the global community in commemorating the International Day of Action for Womenโ€™s Health, a powerful call to recognize that Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) are fundamental to dignity, health, and social justice.

Through our initiative, โ€œSyaka among ka Bityala ta sa SRHR,โ€ we are creating safe and respectful spaces for open dialogue, learning, and empowerment. This effort bridges cultural traditions with the universal right to health, ensuring that everyone is heard, valued, and informed.

With the support of the Sangguniang Kabataan and our broader community, we are working toward a future where every person regardless of age, gender, or background has access to accurate information and essential SRHR services.

This initiative is made possible with the support of the Women's Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR)
